Lets be honest he should stick to TV punditary, because as a manager he has failed 3 times out of 4. I know some fans think he is a nice fella, but for STFC, based upon the budget he had, he was a disaster. Well well well Ed your still alive give it a fliping rest Comment about how well we are playing at the moment or does that hurt you too much? I wondered how long it would be before you jumped up to support your friend Paul all we we need now is Mr "he'll be a legend" Heavenly joining the debate. As Saturday was the first time I'd seen the Town since August I have refrained from commenting. Saturday's performance although vastly better than those under Simpson was in my humble opinion nothing more than adequate. Yes that does hurt because I'd like to see the Town win 4 - 3 every game.

I remember when Simpson joined us he said he had learnt a lot from his time at Preston and would not make the same mistakes.
It seems he is continuing to make the same mistakes and as I said numerous times last season, for someone who has been involved in the game as long as he has plus his involvement with the media, it really does amaze me.
I had a quick look on the Stockport mesageboard to gage opinion about it. It seems the fans singing stuff were in a minority but it is something which Simpson has decided to highlight. At the minute most are sticking up for him saying he has a right to have a go and I believe thats how it started here but the more he did it, the less sympathy he got and then it obviously all came to a head at the Darlo game.
What I could never understand with him is he would always say "its only a minority and Ive got broad shoulders so can take it". Well why bring it up in the first place???

Having read their board, its a situation that very much reminded me of the burton away game last season where he ignored the large scale support from the town fans and decided to highlight and continually mention the 1 or 2 that shouted abuse at him from somewhere behind him (not where the vast majority of the fans were even sat/standing!).
One thing that is slightly different though, is that the stockport fans seem to think that their players are all useless anyway so he's able to say what he likes about them - although in a club with limited resources, surely this isn't the best way of getting them motivated and all pulling together!
And particularly when his own son is there too. Can't be good for team spirit. I can remember during Simpson's first full season here there was much talk of divisions in the camp and a 'them and us' situation in the changing room between old and new players.
Wonder how much he's been on tv this season though
Really doesn't seem to have learnt his lessons.
