What football grounds have you been on and why? Rather a poor selection from me, I'm a frayed. Gay Meadow. Both as an excited fan and a "play on the pitch". Greenhous Meadow. Did a fair Glyn Garner impression, (complete with shirt and gardening gloves). St James Park, Exeter. After the "great escape". What a day. The Exeter stewards were brilliant. Someone tapped me on the shoulder asked me to hold the other end of his banner. We were jumping up and down and waving it, but to be honest, I've no idea what was written on it! Anyone else been "on the pitch" anywhere?

Played on the Gay Meadow and Greenhous Meadow pitches and been on both as a supporter. Also played on the Crown Ground (against Accy reserves) and Sealand Road (v Jester reserves)
My zenith though is walking on the hallowed turf at Wembley after our defeat in '96 as I was part of the video team at the time. Walked down the tunnel and the area around the dressing rooms as well.

Old and New Meadow
Exeter on the great escape
The old Wembley, but that was to see a concert.
Wolves - went to see Wolves v Leeds Utd as a kid and when the players were doing their walk on the pitch, I ran onto get an autograph, and succeeded, and was allowed back in the stands.
I am sure there must be others, but can't think of any at the moment.

We can forgive bizzy at Accrington, when a Steward left a gate unlocked. As the crowd pushed forward when we scored, the owd lad was sent flying through the gate and was ejaculated.

Exactly the same! excitement for the better of me there. Played on the gay meadow too. Played on a few (very) lower league grounds too when I was younger...Aberysywth town, TNS, Bridgnorth. Can't think of any others. Feels like i have been on a few more at end of ssn etc, but slipped my mind.

That brings back great memories ,all our legs had gone to jelly at the end and 3 of us couldnt get over a 3ft wall,a little old lady opened the gate for us great day and rubbed Lee Steels head,a lad i know had his shirt. Another pitch was the Riverside at Middlesbough we wentup there with Pete from the old Pengwern Nigel Pearsons dad in law.Great day and we got to kick a ball around with Nigels little lad as match of the day cameras were packing up.Met all th players in the bar (free) Ian Wright was funny and Tony ADams a stick insect Seaman was massive Great Day.

Played on the Gay Meadow. Got on the pitch at Gigg Lane after the Play-Off semi thriller (and gave Daniels a good old hug) Paraded round the Victoria Ground (Stoke City), after winning the Keele tournament with Stokes school of excellence, with none other than Karl Henry, Lee Bell and Phil Jagielka. Get me eh!!!

I have managed to get on the Anfield pitch when we had a work day out there. one of the blokes who went with us managed to get to the centre circle before he was asked very kindly to leave but some smelly scouse bloke with flymo I got to lift the dented CL trophy that had been dented by Barros about 3 weeks earlier.

Been on the Gay Meadow quite a few times over the years both after games and playing for the ASFC. 93/94 I ended up on the pitch at Wycombe after celebrating a Micky Brown goal and falling over the perimeter wall. Also on Dean Court in 95 when they beat us 3-0 last game of the season to achieve their own Great Escape and decided to join in the party! Then our own Great Escape in 2000. During the Conference Season I did a solo pitch invasion celebrating a late equaliser in the 3-3 draw and ended up being the equivalent of a human rope between the stewards and Town fans as i tried to clamber back into he terracing Then there was the Morecambe walk over at the end of the season. After playing at Torquay one year I had a bit of a kick about on the Plainmor pitch after having a few drinks in Helen Chamberlain's box. Most recent was the Dagenham stroll a couple of years ago. Looking back I reckon I should have had a banning order for about 20 years!

Just remembered I've been on the pitch at the Brittania and Millenium stadiums - both for concerts. Pity I didn't get on the pitch at Dagenham after the conference game there - think a few of us were after blood that day as JQ warmed the players down in front of us

Played at: Deepdale (PNE), Boundary Pk (Oldham), New Meadow Been on: Victoria Rd (Dagenham about an hour after THAT win), Christie Pk (Morecambe to inspect frost), Racecourse Ground (Wxm to interview Glyn Garner after our 1-0 win), Vale Park (Port Vale as part of a sponsors day out - had pictures taken with captains prior to kick-off and said Up The Shrews to Luke Rogers!), and the following were all part of youthful exuberance pitch invasions on full-time: Burnden Pk (Bolton W), Ewood Pk (Blackburn R), Maine Road (Man City), Springfield Pk (Wigan Ath). Wembley for a concert but not counting that one.

i was at a queen concert in 86 and had waited hours for bouncers to open the gate onto the pitch having almost suffered a hillsborough type crush, the david pleat dance just came natural when i got on the pitch
other than that its just stfc's and i think morecambe

In my younger days I played for shropshire schools on the Old Meadow, The Bucks Head, Gresty Road, Vale Park and Prenton Park (where I had to man mark Sammy Lee - what an effin nightmare ). As a supporter, I accidently found myself down the tunnel and on the pitch at Aldershot when trying to find the Gents

Had a game of headers and volleys on the pitch at Namboole Stadium, Uganda on the morning of an international vs Burkina Faso. Turned up to pick up a job lot of tickets which hadn't arrived at the stadium so went for a snoop around with a mate. A ball sat on the centre spot and no one was around so we thought 'why not'? After 10 mins a security guard came over and I thought we were in the sh!t. He just said 'Sir, I've been asked to let you know your tickets are ready', and the magic moment was over...

Greenhouse Meadow and Gay Meadow, done 'play on the pitch' on both aswel as going on the pitch at the end of the last ever game at Gay Meadow against MK Dons.
Bury, Dag&Red in the play off season.
Bucks head.. Good old Hanwood reserves had a final on there a few years back and me and a few mates were having a kick about on the pitch at half time. Was about 10 or 11 at the time.

Maine Road, pitch invasion two or three times. Ewood Park, pitch invasion for City winning 4-1 and promotion to the Premier League. Gay Meadow, pitch invasion a couple of times. Boundary Park, just walked onto the pitch after a friendly as a kid and chatted to Paul Dickov for a while. Anfield, ex-girlfriend's uncle is pitchman so had an immature run around on the pitch in an empty stadium. Galpharm Stadium, did stewarding there.
Nice remembering those.

Yep, it brought back some memories of grounds I've been to, even if I didn't go on the pitch. Has no one been on Edgar Street? My second fav ground. Although, if the stories of rats under the temp stand are to be believed, we might all be on the pitch!
