The Barnet shot that flew just past the post and the one that hit the post!!! It could have been so different.
Wasnt impressed today, ok we won but personally I thought it was dire!!
Disley (IMO) was woeful, Robinson is a greedy git and is starting to sulk, thought Tope worked hard but seemed to struggle at times, should have had that one on one, I think every town fan wanted him to score and you could tell what it meant to the lad.
A guy sat behind me slated Neal ALL game which got on my nerves, when he came out of his box when Holden let the winger through the bloke was almost ripping his seat out, for me it was the only thing he could have donw and he got back brilliantly to stop the shot.
MOM for me was Matty Harold, the bloke isnt going to run around like a youngster but he's got a great brain, I think with a better midfield supporting the strikers we'd be right up there and Harold would get lots of goals.
Enjoyed the three points but didnt enjoy the game at all today.

when Holden let the winger through Ow do, blum. I was in the "Colin Griffin Stand" today. I'll bet he would have enjoyed it. Anyway, Holden let the winger through, because he got a call from someone to let the ball run. Bad call, but Deano got the blame. I was talking to an ex pro defender after the game, who praised Dean for dealing with that fast winger so well. After so long without a game, he said you don't realise how difficult it is to get back up to speed.

Don't agree that it was dire. We played quite well in patched and should really have scored a couple more. The centremidfield remains weak which means when holding onto a slender league we are vunerable.
We did ok, seems that some posters are either highly positive and we're world beaters or alternatively terrible delegation fodder. We're not a bad team actually; no more no less.

Reminded me of the Lincoln game
We never really got out of first gear but looked comfortable for most of the game apart from a few minutes after the goal and then near the end.
Who was that made the brilliant block near the end?
Thought it was a strange decision to take Harrold off for VDB and would have taken Robinson off who I thought was poor. Im guessing that we might have kept him on for his pace but we had Tope & Wright who could offer that. Without Harrold on, the ball wasnt being held up as well which is what you need when your 2-1 up with a few minutes to go
The question is, can we go up another gear in our performance? At home we are getting results without the best performances which most people say is a sign of a good side, but sooner or later our luck will change if we carry on with these sorts of performances. Im hoping that we will up our game when it matters

After the two quite early substitutions I got the impression that Turner wanted to change it round but could not bring on the final substitute too early in case there was an injury.
How Someone could give Disley 9 is beyond me, he plays quite well but every game gives the ball away in front of the back four by being caught in possession far to often.
He is neat and tidy but does not ever look to control the centre of the pitch or dictate the pace of the game --- nice to see him get 2 in 2 though, would mark him at a 7.
Goalkeeper looks like he is improving with every game and his handling a couple of times going back for high balls was perfection.
Still a desperate need for that 6 foot central man in midfield though.

We weren't great but we won.
Agree Holden did well to come on and look after Marshall - I thought his pace would be a problem for Holden but he did a real professional job on him.
Obadeyi was raw at times but combined pace and power in a way that none of our other players can. Good performance.
Our forward play wasn't good enough though, not just the selfish mess ups but we didn't find space in the box when we had breaks - everyone in a line, nobody dropping off for the cut back. Sadler hit the first defender from the byline at the start of the 2nd half when we had a great chance for 3-0. Better forward decision making and final ball and this would have been an easy win.
And please keep the hilarious "Craig Dismal" joke to yourself. He's been one of our best players this season but it's hard to boss the midfield when you're outnumbered, as we often are. Two wingers aren't producing enough positives to outweigh the negatives - beginning to think we might be better with three across the centre and just the one wide man, unless our opponents also come with two wingers. It's not size we need in the middle, it's more ball winning and ball retention options.

Holden did well, its clear that he's not quite as good as Raven but I find the bloke is scapegoated a bit.
Its clear that Dean has a good footballing brain, I enjoyed some of his moves going forward but he is getting a bit slow, He did a good job at looking after the pacey Marshall. Always shows commitment and passion and that's what I like about him.
I'm not sure about Disley though, he also seems quite light, at times yesterday both him and McIntyre went missing, I actually thought Obadeyi would perhaps do a good job in centre midfield, his problem is he just take one touch to many.
McIntyre's first touch is quite poor, I noticed when he got tackled in front of block 14 after about 20 mins, his control led to the tackle going in, shocking

I don't know what everyone is moaning about, decent performance against a battling side. When will people learn that there are no mugs in this league or the league above. All the sides are capable of beating eachother or the day. I don't care if its Barnet versus Huddersfiled. I think the main exception at the moment is Brighton in the bottom 2 divisions. Apart from that anyone can beat anyone on any day.

Brighton are tearing up League 1 by all accounts. I'm told the Peterboro website described them as playing like Real Madrid! My Brighton supporting friend doesn't go that far but says the gulf in class was huge.
They must have given Langmead a hard time. I notice Hibbert remains glued to the bench.

Having missed the last 3 home games I was interested to see how the team had developed over the last two months. The short answer is it hasn't.
Many of the problems that were there last season have reappeared mainly the lack of players in the box when we are attacking and the predictability of it all. It is no wonder that teams know how to frustrate the Town we have no player who will regularly do something different.
However the team is playing far better than last season and with the addition of 2 / 3 players automatic promotion could be achievable and play offs a near certainty.
The key area that needs strengthening is central midfield were we need a box to box player capable of scoring 12 + goals a season.

I believe we have that player in Van Den Broek, I'd try him out in the centre of the park and he tracks back very well. The Rotherham game in particular I remember him running back in the last minute or two and put a very important block in which could well have been an equaliser. Just depends if GT is brave enough to try it out for a game as at the moment he isn't really convincing me he is a centre forward.
