Why on earth was there a small flag placed directly on top of/over the Spirit of 79 banner today?
Can whoever owns the offending flag please place it to one end of and not directly over the GT/Spirit of 79 banner.

I noticed that, I think it said Gloucs Shrews? Yes it did. We noticed it too, strange place to put a flag unless you're looking for attention which it has now got!

To be fair, we had to move a flag to get the big flag to fit, so maybe that person has moved it back.
That said, agreed it does make it look stupid.
The problem is a flag like the big one will only fit between the full length of two block numbers whereas a smaller flag can fit anywhere.

Yes, totally ridiculas.
Sit between the Spirit of 79 banner and the block 14 sign on the back row, the two old guys in question were most put out at the Aldershot match that they couldnt put their flag up. Most sensible people would walk along 5 or 6 seats and put it up in the nearest available gap. But No. They even brought clothes pegs to attach it to the banner with!

In their defense though,(and in hindsight on my behalf) & with respect to Sam and others who organised the Spirit of 79 banner, did they consider that GloucesterShrew had his flag already positioned there?
Agree though that one or the other could be moved just a few yards either way to accomodate both.
Me being a little trivial I guess when there are far more important things going on in the world than positioning of flags/banners etc, hey ho, life goes on.

When the idea of hanging the "Spirit of 79" banner in the west stand was agreed upon I ran a cord across the back of the west stand from Block 13 to Block 18. (Ran out of cord so could go no further). I did the same in the south stand a few seasons ago. When I put the "Spirit of 79" banner up with Dave we had to move a flag. It was the Sam&Loz STFC England Flag. Without wanting to start a massive row surely the lads with the flag and clothes pegs can move down to the other side of the Block 14 sign and use the cord to hang it on? Having said that Im not 100% sure about H&S on this one i.e. fans climbing on seats to put up flags. There is loads of space all along the back of the west for flags, seems daft putting one on top of another. One final point the block numbers at the back of the stand cannot be covered.

Hadn't realised that there was a flag over it yesterday.
Don't wan't to cause trouble/distress etc, however, if you put clothes pegs onto the Spirit of 79 banner, be prepared to pay for any damage to the flag.

Also childish and slightly pathetic if they in fact did 'take revenge' by fixing their flag on the spirit of 79 banner If you had taken the trouble to make a Town flag and taken around the grounds, which I believe they do, and put it up in the Meadow, (Sponsored by Greenhous), in the same place every week, perhaps if someone had explained that the '79 flag up a whole block, it might not have happened. Always two sides to a story.

The banner has been in position since the start of the season and this is the first week another flag has been placed on top so what's different to the other 4 games?
I'd add spiteful to childish and pathetic unless there's a reason other than our flag was there first .
However it could just be an innocent mistake not realising that placing it on the banner would upset others and may never happen again.
Talking of flags / banners just when is the Rowley banner going to make an appearance? With the Salop Leisure sponsorship taking up all the space in the South stand the end wall of the West stand (South stand end) looks the only logical place to place it.............

Just saying if there is anything, then damage will have to be paid for.

I should think so, you nasty person. Talking about banners, always reminds me of The Salvation Army rhyme : Sister Hanna will will carry the banner, Sister Cox will carry the box. But I carried it last week. You're carrying it this ****ing week. But I'm in the family way. You're in every ****ers way. Little things, etc....

Pretty sure it was an accident and chris & pete (I assume it was these two loyal town fans who make a reasonable round trip for home games) will relocate the flag next game

Are we sure it was not Parka trying in vain to cover up the smoking GT picture?

Best thing to do would surely be for the people who put up the Turner flag and the people who own the Gloucs flag to meet up to discuss a sensible way to resolve it.

So it's ok to move other flags but pegs on the GT flag and it's Toys out of the Pram time.
What if when moving the Gloucs Shrews flag i was ripped?

Let's stop all this petty nonsense right now.
1) No flags have been damaged.
2) All the flags are good.
3) There is room for all the flags.
The bigger flags have to go in between the block numbers: so there is only 2 places that flag would fit now, hence putting it there.
The flag that was up on Saturday was not the flag we moved. Either way it doesn't matter.
Either way we can make it work, so everyone wins.

The Rowley flag has already been at 2 games this season. It was at Stoke away, and Oldham in the JPT. Check out the highlights of the Oldham game, you can see ti really well. In regards to finding a home for it at the Meadow, I'm meeting someone from the club at the ground in the next few weeks to hopefully arrange this. In the meantime I'll keep taking it away, check it out at Gillingham
