I'm committed to making your season a miserable one, with plenty of ill-informed commentary.

I hope that's a joke. Chris Smith. A town legend. My opinion who i dont think is the most commited town fan and simply a reply as to say your having a laugh in that choice of person. He is commited cause he runs the coaches unlike others who travel from far a field, or go to x amount of games, reserve games, youth games, watch them train, go to pre season games far away. This i see as far more commitment to the club. You think all Chris Smith does is run the coaches? You clearly know nothing of the man, or indeed his STFC history. Whilst you are as entitled to your opinion as anyone, the way you express it borders on the insulting.

Just because he runs the coaches doesnt mean he isnt committed, without him running around (no pun intended) working tirelessly for STFC for nearly 40 years I personally dont think we'd have had away support like we did. The bloke is a true blue always has been always will be, for his committment to Salop he gets my vote 100%..... Yes Bizzy & Monty and some of the others mentioned are true legends, but Chris Smith was, is and always will be Mr. STFC IMO... He has been made a life member of STFC, how many others can you mention who have received such an accolade? Would you personally work all those years organising coaches for no personal glory.. He's be at the GM hours before and hours after a game waiting for people to book their seat on the bus..

Obviously you have no criteria or knowledge on Chris Smith. Sniffer is almost The Pope to Town fans. Myself and many others used to do reserves home and away, welsh cup etc but life moves on in its on way. Having the pleasure of meeting Japanshrew in Tokyo and also meeting Richard Cole when visiting the UK from the USA they are committed fans, but so are the people who sacrifice other pleasures to go away on a Saturday week in week out. Respect to Bizzy, some of the die hards from the past now have kids and can not afford to go. My trophy would go to kevin bright

Isnt Smithy one of only 3 honourary life members at the club? Enough said an absolute legend of the highest order.Fans like Monty,Beast,Bason and Barry Stefan seem to be a thing of the past not as many characters these days.

Smithy also set up the supporters team in the 70s which is still going strong today and I suspect a much tougher task to arrange back in the days before mobile phones and the internet!

There is no fan who is more committed than another. They're a fan, and therefore they are as committed as is necessary.

On a different take - I'd put Whitters and Dunny up there as committed town fans - so much so that they've devoted careers to STFC. Anyone who can take the time and effort to put together Meadow Memories and the book - deserve a great amount of gratitude. ShrewsPlayer commentators - Ant and especially Andy who has been commentating since the inception. Fans who fly in from all corners of the globe. ASFC - past present and future - representing the club with pride and passion. AND -- all the names Smithy, Bizzy, Monty etc etc names known to everyone as Shrewsbury fans - pure and simple.

Its not bordering an insult to have an opinion on what you think it takes to be more committed than the next person, yes he does do a really good job for STFC, but as stated so do others, who i feel are more committed. Sorry Chris Smith if you feel any offence made by my statement as you do a fantastic job always have, always will.

montys worth a mention, how many times did he walk from montgomery to salop and sleep in that portacabin,?is he still about? never seen him at the new meadow yet? I've seen him walking around the west stand a few times I always used to remember getting on Smithy's coach at Wellington and finding one spare seat when I got on, that spare seat was always next to Monty! Maybe not the most hygenic of blokes, but certainly a true dyed in the wool Salop supporter

The amount the guy has done over the years is beyond any reasonable level of support - Always amazes me every year that passes without an MBE etc coming his way
