the tazer issue is one thing, no we dont know what went on before, but did his actions warrant being punch very hard in the head like that? seems like a little bit of frustration to me on the part of the copper.

This my argument Matron and it was the same during the Tomlinson debate we had on here. If the subject ceases being a threat, despite of what went on before then there is no need to excessive force, i.e. punch, push, batons etc. Anyone on B & A who served in the Armed Forces and did live armed guard in the UK will know all about the Rules of Engagement that live armed guards had to adhere to, I hope the Police have such rules.

The guy has been tasered once, continues to kick out at the officer, although it is half hearted. The taser is fired again,an dafter firing has stopped, the male keeps his hands into his chest, from what I can see up by his neck ...there is no effect on the body once taser has stopped firing, so he is not complying with instructions, and the officers need to handcuff him. The punches/strikes appear to me to be directed towards where the mans arms are, as already mentioned up by his head...funny how we all see different things. If this officer was guilty of assault, he shoudl be struck off the force and punished in court. Any one know what happened to him? Nicko, the ROE for live armed guarding is drawn from UK law, and use of force. I know, having carried out this duty at home and overseas in operational theatres. The police are governed by exactly the same laws, except in carrying out their duty they may use such minimum force as is reasonable in the circumstances. The debate then lies with the CPS and the courts to decide if the officers actions are justified.
