Can't believe the negative response to this. Some one puts forward an idea which gives you a chance of a "special edition" shirt for £5 and is met with so much negativity i can't see why he bothers. You have a go, or you don't. It's a one off punt. I bet most of you will put more than a fiver on the Grand National when you probably know bugger all about horse racing. Regardless of the present recession, £5 is a packet of fags, a couple of pints, or a go on the lottery which you ain't gonna win. Count me in please. P.M on its way.

I can't see the issue here; £125 x 125 shirts = £15,625 That would equate to far more profit than selling 500 for £40 with a profit of £10 each shirt (for example). If the limited edition ones aren't in people's price range surely they will buy the normal one if they like them? One way the club might've potentially alleviated some of this negativity is by providing a little more detail about what you actually get for your £125. Easy to sit here and criticise though, eh So what you are saying is .......... This is all about money with practically nothing about the Centenary . This has become a money making scheme and The Centenary is nothing more than a vehicle to accomplish that . I wonder how the pensioner that has attended every home game faithfully for over 40/50/60 years is expected to share in this 125th year celebration , when it costs over £ 100-00 ? Fair ? I think not !! No what I'm actually saying is that to maximise the opportunities you need to segment your market. Some people will happily invest £125 for a limited edition piece of history. There will be other things for other supporters. Incidentally how many pensioners would buy a centenary kit if it was cheaper? To me the standard anniversary kit is something you can buy if you want to. Still fail to see how the club can ever win. Too many miserable gits around. What I can see is B&A degenerating into a negative place that anyone positive avoids to preserve their mental state......

I'm sure most clubs and especially Shrewsbury Town would not charge £125 just for a shirt no matter what the circumstances.
This shirt will be a part of a package that may or may not include such goodies as a go on the club tractor a sure fire winner for all our out of town supporters.
A day with Whitters "unlimited" coffee and red bull should you not be able to keep up.
A car park attendant for the day during a home match so you can tell every motorist who wants to park in your own special way how privileged they should feel.

We APPLAUD Pilch for giving someone a chance of buying an overpriced piece of cloth for a fiver . No i don't do the lottery , waste money on things like the horses or smoke as that is a waste of money too . As a related side matter the youth teams players of various ages are being asked to pay out about £ 125 for all new kits , bags etc. because of the new sponsers only a year after forking out the same amount for the same stuff one year ago . Someone is sleeping comfortably with huge mark up prices but its definitely not the fans or parents of these young players . We are league 2 not premiercrap and the prices should reflect that .

So you are defining negativity by people debating their opinions and trying to create fairness ? So ' positiveness ' is only by people who have your opinion ? All people are miserable gits because they don't agree with you ? You have a very confused view of healthy debate and democracy!!

Well isn't that what you get for £125? It seems quite a good deal to me VIP day, Some drink, a meal, tickets, a tour and a shirt If only they would pay for the travel as well www.shrewsburytown.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10443~2104510,00.html

Listen Jockey, not everyone agrees with the pricing of the CENTENARY SHIRT, but if you read carefully you will see that there are "add on's " to the offer. I could'nt afford to go to the Millenium Dome, but did'nt moan about the cost or spoil the fun of others. Chillax. Where you get the EXTORTING MONEY idea. No one has been threatened as far as i know, its still a free country with free choices. If a fan wants to pay the going rate, well, good luck to him....value is in the eye of the beholder, or something like that.

What planet are you on? As for people being miserable gits because they don't share my view- absolutely not. If you'd said people being wrong because they don't share my view- spot on Seriously there has been so much crud on here moaning about so many things this particular topic was the one that forced me to post a general reaction. Incidentally I've placed my order for the limited edition shirt and I don't count myself any better or worse than anyone else who supports the club. (Possibly with the exception of Timmy Mallett)
