FAO SSS : For someone who was so negative when simpson was in charge, I see you have not changed your tune. I thought you would turn over a new leaf or do you want Turner to fail too? OK its Ilfracombe but the team are passing the ball well, looking sharp, running, being lively and all you can do is moan because we are not playing Real Madrid. I assume the post which prompted this got deleted from the thread? I assumed the same but having checked it's not the case This thread is intact

Link------> GT post IlfracombeSounds a bit of a pain that you're only allowed 3 substitutions with games not long apart... Squad was: Chris Neal, Danny Taylor, Mat Sadler, Craig Disley, Ian Sharps, Connor Goldson, Mark Wright (Jon Taylor 46), Kevin McIntyre, Matt Harrold (Jake Robinson), Benjamin Van Den Broek (Shane Cansdell-Sherriff 56) Unused subs: Subs: Ben Smith, Harry Hooman, David Raven, Lewis Neal

Just checking Im assuming that "Ben Smith" is some keeper on trial or something, and not the old player Ben Smith we had who then joined GT at Hereford..

I assume the post which prompted this got deleted from the thread? I assumed the same but having checked it's not the case This thread is intact If that is the case, what is Matt getting upset about? The lad has made one post on the thread whereby he has asked what league Illfracombe played in. Hardly a negative comment. I know Matt has had cause to be upset with Leon in the past but responses from him like that to a simple question do little to endear him to the B&A public or earn their sympathy for past wrong doings. Let it rest and either a) answer the question posed in a civil matter or b) ignore the poster completely and let others answer his question. The squablings and constant putdowns have become tiresome and do the board no favours

The joys of the seaside - it is p**sing down and I am in Ilfracombe library, who are kindly letting me use a pc for free because the wi-fi is down. B&B wanted to charge an extortionate amount I was wearing my old MG Sportswear white polo with the loggerheads (a bit surprised it still fits) People from Salop at same b&b and Bizzy + others seem to be basing themseves at a nearby pub (I couldn't just walk past) I won the raffle - a box of groceries so bizzy's party had them and they are giving me a lift to Torrington Disley + Sharps caught the eye - Benji basiclly played upfront but his finishing was not great. GT not happy about 3 subs rule - much arguing before kick off, may bee a rule change yet Good to see the board and manager socialising in the club

I guess the lack of an ISDN link at the ground rules out any possible Shrews Player commentary for the rest of the tournament?
Shame as the 6000 plus views on this thread show the great interest that these matches have generated.
Think i'll be dropping the Radio Shropshire folk an email to try and get them on the case for Thurs/Sat/Sunday games. Saturday could be vs Donny and Sunday could be Blackpool. Arguably our 'biggest' preseason matches!

Shame as the 6000 plus views on this thread show the great interest that these matches have generated. That puts this thread in the top 20 most read threads in B&A history... 16th at the moment to be precise. And only just short of the Dagenham v Salop last game of the season thread in May 2009. Unless something has gone wrong with the way the 'reads' have been counted here...you'd have to say that's pretty bl**dy extraordinary!!

only 10 players on that team sheet, same on the stfc website. Presume as he scored Leslie was the one missed out - and played full match?
Good run out by the looks. Interesting to see that a few of the youngsters got some playing time, a sign of things to see i hope

Savage that the FA got involved on the substution front. Hope they'll justify their decision at some stage?

I think its mainly down to the fact that fans can't find out the score updates and scorers any where else so they just log on here and its not like there is 100's there like an away league match and you can easily find out live scores and goal scorers on BBC Shropshire/SSN/The Final score etc. "Most users online was 2,113, 29/6/10 at 18:59" sounds like a proboards glitch though.

Not that I can go (unfortunately) but I really hope we win that and progress further.
IMO this tournament is far more interesting than anything we've done pre-season wise for many a year (certainly since the old tours of Ireland and Scotland) and it'd be nice to take it seriously and go as far as possible.
Well done to the club for getting involved.

Well done to the club for getting involved. Yep, I'd defo go along with that, it certainly beats playing small teams like Ilfracombe in a meaningless game. Not being able to watch is a bummer though. Not sure on the subs rule though, sounds like Turner is pretty annoyed with that. Hope he's careful with what he says - don't want the FA on the wrong side of us so early on in pre season!! On that point, the reporter at Blackpools game last night said Holloway had used 5 subs, though two of the five were given the same number as those they had replaced. Strange, against the rules, and something that won't go down well I shouldn't think!

Agreed with that.
And as for the popularity of this thread - it's a vital resource for following these games - quality!

As a mod, I also have no idea how this thread could be the 16th most popular
I would also be intrested in anyone being able to back this up....
I would say the popularity of this thread has more to do with the fact its a midweek tournement in a far off place no one can really be arsed to go... rather than the tournement its self.
lastly.... im sure thats glitch too, although the number seems right but the date was always in the run up to the last wembley appearance...
