Regarding the thread subject - They weren't kidding, they were just lying. It's only the dumb@ss Lib Dems that were stupid enough to believe them. Or, more likely, didn't care as long as they got a sniff ( ) of power. Am I cynical or what

Although i am biased (on all counts really) this is a real scarrey prospect (not from a personal perspective) news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/10557996.stmHospitals are to be moved out of the NHS to create a "vibrant" industry of social enterprises under the proposals = Hospitals will be privatised.Kind of ironic really that it is announced on the same day as this. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/10569097.stmSame old tories.

Very good and balanced debate on Newsnight last night which generated more light than heat for once the majority of the mostly professionals there were saying -We dont want privatisation but PCT's do stifle innovation and are an unecessary and expensive tier of bureaucracy Wonderful news about survial rates though over the last 30-40 years
