wheres jamo with some inside information don't understand this growing swell of impatience. The deal is done. The "interviews" have taken place and now it is just a question of time as to when it is acceptable to make a public statement. Clearly decisions about playing staff and prospective new signings are being made but no one can actually expect the club to be releasing statements every 5 minutes when there is a clear need for discretion at this stage Posted May 27th. Nothings changed ! Patience is the word brothers.

Patience is the word brothers. good post comrade im dont normally get involved in all these football threads but your post asks more questions than it answers. why a need for discretion if an appointment has been made? there has not been a statement for weeks, never mind every five minutes agree that patience is needed, just feels like the whole process is hugely cloak and dagger and that invariably will pose more questions and provoke more enquiries.

We still have another transfer window in January 2011 before the trophy for being potential Champions is presented.
I wonder how many who wanted Simpson out are jumping up and down wanting an instant replacement and yearning for instant success?
Look on the bright side, the club are saving money in manager wages, telephone calls and faxes.

More than happy to wait, really don't understand why folk are in such a rush. If we have to wait for someone to become available then it clear as owt we have to wait for them...they can't say anything until the deal is done. So whay all the fuss and the hurry...not as if we have a game on Saturday is it?
Now a farce would be to annouce to the world who it is only for it to fall down because sommat unexpected popped up that meant the deal could not be finalised...just think of the reaction we'd get from some on here then...

They can't announce our new unnamed manager until he has completely the sale of his shares in Hereford. Why is that so difficult to understand? So why the crap that is being fed in saying that the interview process is going well?

i still dont think it turner hope not as its a backwards step............... I don't think you'll find many people who watched the promotion season of 79 and the time under GT agreeing with you. I personally think it will bring the supporters together again

As long as those player's who's futures are in the balance are kept informed. I think it will be a MASSIVE shock if it aint Turner

10-14 days.....
Must be Turner then as selling his shares would take around that time. As impatient as I am at least we got some news?

I didn't have the chance to see Turners reign here being only 32 but I do have my dads observation to analyse and he ain't keen on him coming back

I was lucky enough to have to have been a Shrewsbury supporter through Alan Durbans, Richie Barker and Graham Turners tenure and there are not many fans of that era that share your fathers views.
Also, based on very recent history Graham Turner over the managerial reigns at Hereford to-wards the end of last season when Hereford where deep in the mire.
He subsequently them to league safety by winning 7 of their last 10 matches. Now, I would suggest that if Paul Simpson had the same record in the last 10 matches of last season then we would not be looking for a new manager at this juncture.
Blind prejudice is so negative!

I didn't have the chance to see Turners reign here being only 32 but I do have my dads observation to analyse and he ain't keen on him coming back I did, he is one of the main reasons i am a town fan as he got us to the campionship , helped us stay there and raised the clubs profile by beating good teams in cup runs. he then went to villa and wolves so he does have top flight experience too. initially i didnt like the idea, but if you ignore the fact that he was here, he is a manager with a wealth of experience of succeeding at different levels, playing and running a club. All valuable experience, especially if you have young coaches to pass it on to.

There were still plenty of shouts during GT's spell as manager of 'sort it out Turner', but more often than not he did and the club went forwards due in no small part to GT.
Since those days we have gone backwards almost every season.
However if GT does indeed come back as 1st team manager (rather than DOF) the expectation level of fans will be so much higher than it already is - just hope he can still do it for us.
But for me he is the obvious & natural choise - rather than another Quinn/Peters/Simpson who will come in from completely outside of the club.

I have one question as a response.... If Rafa was to leave Liverpool do you think King Kenny is the ideal and most suitable replacement?

People seem to forget that when he over Wolves, they were near the bottom of the league that we are now in. He built a side, that them to near the top of what is now the Championship (unfortunately). He operates well on small budgets, so with increased cash available here, compared to the peanuts he had with the worzels, I am sure he will do us proud. I have no idea what mightyshrew's dad must have been watching, as we played some lovely attacking, winning football in the early/mid 80s. Things went belly up when he left, and Bates and McNeil were incapable of continuing his good work.
