I hope Nick tells Dave to do one. Doesn't look like he will. I hope he works with him just to get rid of Brown and his cronies.

I was hoping for a TWOTS on the outcome yesterday, so I could have had a bet.

Clegg's had a nightmare election. What was that about a 2 horse race and Labour coming third? I thought he was in trouble as soon as I heard that.
Having blown his party's best chance in an election for generations, he still has the chance to salvage something in the negotiations with Cameron or Brown.
If he doesn't come out of this with real progress on PR and electoral reform then he should be hounded out of the leadership and will be the biggest political failure of the 21st century so far.
Come on Nick, don't betray the progressive majority that stopped the Tories winning. Don't wimp out on PR. There may never be a better opportunity.

Very dissapointed with my constituency's election results (Hereford and South Herefordshire) The Tory candidate won but it didnt help that the Lib Dem MP of the past 13 years (Paul Keetch) retired. The sad thing now is that it looks the Lib Dems will only work with the Tories in a coalition government, what great news for us all

You'll also be pleased to hear that Labour plan a referendum on PR, it being expected that up to half their MPs are against...no doubt most of the Tories are agains too...as the only party which benefits from PR are Lib Dem... It suits the two old heavy weights to continue to subjugate the Lib Dem minnows...just as it suits them with the electorate, where only 30-40% of the population votes for the party in power...

I think the British public went into default setting, blue or red. To go with what you know in these economic times is reasonable but disappointing.

Not quite sure thats the case - Shrewsbury Town council has 11 Conservative Councillors, 3 labour and 2 Lib dem. Conservatives would need to loose a lot of seats to loose control of the Town Council, and their majority is even higher on the Shropshire Council. The Town Councillors have not ever faced an election yet so that might change - It was basically a jobs for the boys set of appointments on the demise of Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council - when they are up for election it will be interesting Erm election for the town Council place in June 2009 results on the link below. www.shropshire.gov.uk/democracy.nsf/open/D3CCBB54C7EF719E80257561003FD6F1Based on the increased vote for the Conservative MP in the town at this years election its hard to see them loosing control of the Town or Shropshire Council anytime soon.
