Interesting article in the Star re season tickets: 3200 season tickets last season would guess at close of play on Friday more than 740 renewals. 1900 early bird season tickets last season. If they are expecting 1150 sales from Saturday and 4 days this week they are surely very optimistic. For one I wont be renewing my ticket before Thursday if Simpson is still in place. www.shropshirestar.com/2010/03/27/town-set-to-smash-ticket-barrier/

How do you voice your dissatisfaction with the current situation? Buy your season ticket on the Early Bird scheme and face having to watch shi-ite football during the 2010/2011 season or hold back, in the hope that our super tv pundit will get the bullet that he so richly deserves before buying a ticket. I must admit that I am torn between these two scenarios. Hopefully if lots of people refrain from renewing their ticket the board might sit up and take notice and allow people to buy the cheapest ticket after the season has ended.

Can't see them getting another 1150 this week- especially after the farcical events of Saturday.
I won't be renewing my 3 until there is significant movings within the club!!

Either way the club win, if you hold off getting it cheap and then we get a new manager at the end of the season you pay more and the club gets more cash, there not going to be bothered by that...
I reckon everyone renew... mroe cash coming in now the better chance we have of paying simpson off....

I have renewed mine, bu it was not at last season's prices - ok £7 is not a lot over a season, but the prices are not the same as before

This is what could finish Simpson before the end of the season - Wycherley understands money better than football.

I agree with that analysis Unless of course fans decide to be more selective as to which games they attend and don't renew at all.

This is what could finish Simpson before the end of the season - Wycherley understands money better than football. I agree. A successful side playing attractive or even battling football would have produced average home gates of up to 7000 this year. That implies that the Club has missed out on at least £0.5M of gate receipts, as well as all the add-ons of food and programme sales. For me the ST renewal is not just about who our manager is. I'm also looking at the potential squad members (excluding the loanees) and questioning whether they will form the nucleus of a competitive team. I'm really struggling to understand how it can be transformed into an effective unit for 2010/11 season. I've only supported the Town for the last 25 years, so I'm a newcomer and an exile, but haven't missed a home league game at the New Meadow so far. I can accept defeats from decent opposition. I go away happy when I've witnesssed a battling team performance, or a young player showing a glimmer of hope, but it's becoming a real chore to watch the current team. I also would rather wait until June and give the Club an extra £30 ish to have a clearer view of what I might be signing up to for next season. I don't anticipate that RW (or anyone else) will be prepared to inject more cash for players. I fooled myself into believing that Holt, Davies and Humphrey would be with us when renewing last year.Won't be losing any sleep over the loss of players this time. I won't pay £20 per game, so it looks like I may well be kicking the STFC habit unless some major changes in manager and playing staff happen.

Renewed mine as whoever is boss and whoever is in the team I'll be sat there week in week out either
a) cheering the team on b) diobolically booing the team and wanting the team to loose
(Delete a or b depending on level of parania in the managers/Chairmans mind)

Rob you are forgetting the hidden rise, identified by JT, where the club is no longer offering a discount to holders of an Amber and Blue account at the West Bromich Building Society. This may be an own goal because fans may decide to close their account and this would reduce the income to the club which has been well over £20,000 in some seasons.

Fingers, I think you're missing the point.
Attendances have held up this season due to the number of season ticket holders.
Take that away and you are mainly reliant on the team's form to bring the punters in.....
I will not renew. I will also likely attend less than 17 games next season. Others will be the same.

Fully appreciate what you say however if performances improve we have something to look forward to next season.
If they dont we have a new manager which usually breathes new life into the club.
I've not been to every home game this season so cannot comment on the overall performance, however for such a small amount of money to watch every league game I think people are being quite fickle.
Lower attendances equal less cash in the pot which equals less on transfers and wages. Expand this downward sprial - the payers we can afford demand a lower wage which often equates to lower ability and worse performances.
Therefore fans will ultimately end up hurting themselves more.
What are expectations for the season? Our excellent home record in the first couple of seasons was perhaps beyond expectations? however we did not pay more as fans for that privledge, similarly in times of need we should not give up or pay less.
Would be interesting if Roland had implemented the recent mansifled initiative of pay what you want. . .

It was £255 when we moved there, it stayed at £255 when VAT went down to 15%, so an increase to £262 is an increase and is not keeping prices the same, which is what John Harris said in the article

The club have also said (in one of the Q and A things on the Website) that following cheap tickets for people with out season tickets (was it the Accrington game) that some insentives purely for Season ticket holders will be annouced before the end of the season (Ian Bebbington)
Since then they have slashed the benifits associated with the Blue and Amber account, and as Scooter shows, increase season ticket prices......
I wait for my "insentive" to be announced as a season ticket holder....
The fact that part time fans/Non season ticket hodlers got a benifit last season and will probs again, means that not renewing and picking your games actually becomes a more attractive option!

I cant imagine what I would do with myself on a Saturday afternoon if I boycotted the Prostar so have bit the bullet and purchased a ticket for me and my lad. Followed the Town since 1971. Have seen some drivel in that time and carried on going season after season so why should 2009/10 make me feel any different?

It would be interesting to see how many fans with season tickets get to all 23 matches I reckon that on average, what with holidays and other things, I miss on average 3 or 4 matches a season. There have been several occasions this season I probably wouldn't have gone if I hadn't had a season ticket. Although I have supported the Town for 50 odd years and always will I have felt that I might have enjoyed my football watching Shawbury, Hanwood or Market Drayton more. If I don't get a season ticket, still got option to get it June, I doubt that I will spend more watching STFC next season unless there is a major improvement in the performances on the pitch.

Have renewed my season ticket because I am committed to this football club and have been a regular supporter for nearly 50 years. Having said that I have no confidence in Paul Simpson or his tactics. It would be a diaster if his judgement is backed to bring in anymore players, Elder, Bright, Robinson, Riza, Simpson junior etc etc are just not good enough. This is the same man who got rid of Constable, Symes and Pugh who appear to be banging them in for their respective teams most weeks. There is a real problem with our style of play and I know its been said before but even Rooney and Ronaldo wouldnt be able to score in our team. No skill, no ability and worst of all no effort, in my opinion Paul Simpson is not the man for the job and no longer has the confidence of the majority of fans or based on recent performances, the players.
