After yesterdays results anything less than a maximum return over the next 72 hours is unacceptable if play off aspirations are to be remotely maintained and if the results fail to materialise then this Easter weekend could be Simpsons last in charge as surely RW has to look to next season.
Team news
Button
Holden Sherriff Langmead Skarz
Simpson Dunfield Mcintyre Neal

Brave decision, hope it pays off. Need to get the wingers on the ball early and push back the fullbacks in the first 15 mins. If the get isolated it could be tough given the way the Town have failed to keep the ball recently.

The inclusion of Neal and moreso his son has me thinking of 'live by the sword, die by the sword' - if his team wins it will be a good result but to lose with certain selections who, if they play poorly and the natives will be even more restless. Brave or foolish, only time will tell.

At least it's 4-4-2.
Really can't understand why he never starts Robinson though.

Can't believe Neal is ahead of VDB in pecking order, or Lesbo for that matter

Out of interest Ed, whats that aimed at? The selection? The formation? Jake Simpson? Must admit Im very surprised at the team, would have thought we would have had a team of experience & battlers in there today, ie the likes of Murray & Coughlan. To play Neal is risky, to play Simpson is very, very brave and as Hoover said, if the result isnt correct then there will be serious questions asked But lets hope that he proves us wrong

We'll win today...its what being a Town fan is all about. They'll look to dangle us some hope for the rest of the season...keep us on our toes, drag the suffering out just a little while longer...

Masterstroke if it pays off, big question marks over it if it doesn't. Personally I'd have gone for Murry, Leslie and Robinson in the team ahead of Neal, Simpson and Dunfield.

People were asking for wide men, thats exactly what we now have! Simpson showed in patches earlier in the season what he can do so i think its good to have him back available. Neal will hopefully have one of his good games today, some of the balls he is able to play have won us numerous points this season.
I would however rather have dunfield and VDB in the middle.

See what you are saying but these players have hardly added much in recent weeks. Sticking to these players would have been easy - Simmo has been brave but if he can't make 4-4-2 work against a poor Torquay side and having exhausted nearly every combination of wingers/forwards then he's in trouble. Much will depend on whether we can keep the ball - wingers are useless without neat, incisive passes to feet.

Have seen nothing in either Neal or Simpson to suggest they deserve a starting position.

To be fair, not many players deserve a start at the moment, might as well give two more a chance to drag us up. If it was on players who deserve a start, then I doubt we'd have 11 on the pitch

Seems a pretty even start, sherriff booked early on, couple of half chances for either side, simpson seems to be involved in all our forward play so far.

I would rather Robinson, Leslie or Neal play on the wing instead of his son. Absaloute joke thing to do in a vital game.
Results going our way so far...
Burton 0-1 Darlington Macclesfield 1-0 Aldershot Notts County 1-0 Bury
