I haven't joined that facebook group, but I did have a quick glance and there was something on the wall about a protest at the Notts County game if you're really interested.

I wouldn't, get behind the boys, try to get a vital win. If it goes the same way as the last 4 games then fair enough, but try and get behind them to begin with. Please

Everyone has a right to a point of view but it does give the opposition a boost so hardly gives support to the team. I remember the massive number of 'Branfoot Out' banners at the Meadow when we knocked Southampton out the league cup, certainly didn't help them that evening.
It would be nice if the 'The Diabolical?' banner was accompanied by something more positive and supportive to the team - imo you'd have still made your point but not given fuel to Simmo's rant.

A protest is completely pointless! We are not in danger of being relegated and will more than likely miss out on the play-offs now. I am as p****d off as anyone else after saturday, but we are not in crisis!! The season may be over but the club still goes on in what will be a healthy position to any potential new manager and players.
It has been a poor season overall, with losing to c**p teams and some p**s poor performances. Simpson has took us as far as he can in my opinion, and it is time for a change even if it is at the end of the season.

I'm doing the 'Diabloical?' banner. It will be accompanied with a positive banner, I take the NewportShrews one to every away game as well.

I remember that one very well. The banners were there all game, but as soon as they went 2-0 down all you could hear from the Saints fans for the rest of the game was "we want Brantfoot out" over and over again. Has to be said that it probably didn't do a great deal for team morale, however. If anyone really does feel the need for an official protest, then it'd be much better to do it after the game, imho. There's no need to puncture the players' confidence even more if it can be avoided.

If people want to shout anti Simpson stuff and wave banners then thats their choice, I find it sad in a way though that some people seem to look forward to it so much.
What Id say is not to do it until the end of the game, lets face it if fans/management come out and see/hear negative stuff before the game has even started then its not going to help anyone

The Diabolical banner would work best if unfurled before kick off and as the players and Simpson come out for kick off. It should then be put away and there should be an ultimate atmosphere to reinforce the point of just how wrong he was
What game are you going for, as I think it would work best as a one-off banner just to how Simpson - Torquay away, are we really that diabolical to make the trip all the way down to Torquay, of course not? Or: - Notts County home, home game would give the banner maximum coverage, and probably make the bigger statement
Either would make the point perfectley in my opinion, though we'd be as bad as Simpson if the banner kept makin re-occuring appearances

I was going to put it out for when the team runs out, so that as you say Simpson can see it.

On that basis it's fairly safe to say that there will doubtless be a thread come Saturday evening denouncing PS for not taking time out to applaud the much travelled support at Plainmoor

I think we made the point on Saturday and to have a protest prior to the Torquay game is pathetic as it could well affect the team performance. So unless your 13 Newport shrew I wouldn't bother because it won't help.........
I was as gutted as anyone after Saturday but am still spending the time and a significant amount of money going to Tourquay as I believe it's the last chance saloon to get a win then stuff Notts County on Monday.
I know thats a slim chance but it's the last chance and you could well be jeopadising it with your sign and I'm sure you don't want to do that?
On the other hand a few verses of 'We are diabolical, we are diabolical, we are diabolical, we are diabolical', whist getting a message across would have a comical twist to it so if you are going to Torquay please do all you can to support the team whilst we still have this slim chance

No but there might be some justification for saying we are insane!!!!!!
My opinion would be that banners at the Notts County game would be better - I suspect that more of those with influence will be at the home match than at one a long way from home on Easter Saturday, i.e., it will have more effect. Of course should we win on Saturday then I don't know!

I'll be down there on Friday - Sunday with 3 mates we could yet still be persuaded to go and watch the match, unlikely though as all of us decided on Saturday at 2pm to stay in the pub rather than go and watch them play Darlo. If I go and watch the match it'll be to support the team, not start booing and other antics as soon as they kick off, wouldn't want to fall out with these hard assed banner boys

Who the hell do you think your talking to? I respect your opinion and the fact you are going to an away game as far away and as inconvenient as Torquay, and I honestly do, but don't slate me for the banner. If anything was have an effect on the Town performance it will be the falling attendances that Simpson will create coming into the final leg of the season, due to his post match interview. See you at Torquay

I'd like to think I am quite approachable to be honest! As for boo-ing the team from the start, I don't think anyone will be doing that, I certainly wont be! I'll be supporting them for as long as they are putting in there all.

Some people on here are totally ridiculous.
NewportShrew has felt aggrieved by the comments made by PS in the media after the game, and feels he wants to make a point.
A banner is the way he feels he could do this.
Yet some people on here make it sound like he will be turning up at the game, wanting us to lose, booing all day and generally being a ?
Question? Why the hell would he go all the way to Torquay to do that?
He has been one of the most loyal fans this season, and as far as I believe, backed PS up until very recently, but the DIABOLICAL comment p**sed him, and many others off.
Just because it may not have annoyed you so much, or you dont think a banner is a good idea, there is no need to shoot your mouth off at him or criticise for the way he shows his passion for OUR club.
Oh, and before anyone has a go at me for "brown-nosing" me and NewportShrew quite often disagree on many things!

If i was going i would get behind the team but give Simmo abuse late in the game if the side were heading for another inept defeat.
The players need our support so having anti Simpson demos before the game won't help.I would hope that we can get a result and everyone will be a bit happier on Saturday night though i am not convinced myself.
