if he has any pride or integrity, he should hand in his resignation tomorrow. that would be the honourable and decent thing to do.
To preside over any further shambolic performances will only demean his reputation further.

I was in the 're-assess at the end of the season, not much to be gained by acting now' camp, but after hearing that interview my opinion of Simmo has plummeted. It was a masterclass in buck passing, with the finger of blame pointed everywhere but himself. Describing the fans as " diabolical" and that embarrassing, amateur sociologist waffle about "that's the society we live in now and the football game we're in now" was beyond the pail. Agreed. As a pundit on TV Simpson comes across as intelligent, eloquent and sensible. However his post match interviews, culminating in that dreadful effort this evening, are a PR disaster. Regardless of what he thinks of the fans it is they who a manager needs on his side (along of course with results!) to maintain a long stay at a club. His continued refusal to accept any blame is baffling. Today he blamed the players and the supporters, how about some of the following - Changes galore in team selection in recent weeks - Changes galore in formation in recent weeks - Bizarre substitutions e.g. we're in need of two goals today to win the game so he takes off a striker with hundreds of career goals for a winger with less than one hundred league performances Let's add this to some of the following - 3rd biggest budget in the league, 11th in the table - Very boring defensive minded football. Today was the last straw and I'm off the fence, Simpson out!

Today was bad enough to sit through and watch as it was, but listening to that interview whilst driving back down the A49 I'm surprised I didnt crash my car! We've heard plenty of drivel from this so called excuse for a manager this season but this one tops the lot! He's lost the confidence and trust of most of the fans, I'd be very surprised if he hasnt achieved the same with the playing squad. He has to carry the can for this mess, its not OUR fault Simmo, its YOURS!!!
Please go.

I think Paul Simpson has now got himself into a position he will not recover from and it is now a case of when, not if, he will be sacked / resign / leave the club by mutual consent.
As for previous talk of the play-offs, this team is not good enough to win them anyway and i dread to think what would happen next season if they did.
The four match winning streak was a blip in a season of huff and puff.

it's very difficult to defend him after a performance like that and an interview where he seemed to be saying "not me guv", so i wont.
he looks and sounds like a man who doesnt want to be here, the players were edgy and uninspired and now the vast majority of the fans have turned. not sure he will go now, but unless wins every game between now and may, i think his days are numbered.

It's looking similar to his last days at PNE. He's run out of ideas - if he ever had any. The fans were remarkably tolerant for about 70 mins today probably through utter boredom.
Anyway that's the last game of the season for me unless PS is removed. I did think that there was nothing to be gained by changing before the end of the season but actually there's nothing to be lost by doing so. This is hardly a one off we've seen about half a dozen if not more abysmal performances this season.

Heard it all before... His team talks are no doubt equally uninspiring, no wonder our players look so demotivated with the absolute drivel he comes out with sometimes..."society we live in"? Is he for real?, what a society where you want your team to do well but when you pay good money to watch repeated inept performances you voice your disproval out of sheer frustration, thats the fault of the society we live in?! Its the fault of a manager who has not only lost the plot, but the fans and respect of the players imo.
