Ultras, ultras, ultras, where to start?
I raise my voice, I enjoy a chant, I support the boys. I don't think it needs an organised group to tell me to do that
The reason Mallet works so well in some people's eyes is because it is so genuine. He doesn't need to create groups or anything, he just turns up, and does it naturally. I'll admit, I really enjoy Mallets antics, but for 90 whole minutes yesterday, there was a stage when I felt like banging my head against the floor
The Ultras seems like an irrelevant concept to me. I wasn't really aware of the old Ultras, were they an organised group as such, or just a group of people who started off making some noise and developed a name? I might be wrong, but I'd guess the former
If it works fair enough, but I don't care either way. i sit in Block 9 and enjoy myself. The same as Mallet we just have different ways of showing it

The same as Mallet we just have different ways of showing it The point is the atmosphere at our stadium is, if we're all gonna be honest, s**te. You say that all you need to do is sing, then why hasn't the atmosphere been good enough all season? The original Ultras were fantastic, they really created a great atmophere at the stadium. I'm speaking as an outsider, as I wasn't part of the original Ultras. They didn't need to organise anything, it just happened, from my knowledge anyway. They later established themselves with a website, forum etc.. Since they departed from the South Stand earlier in the season, it hasn't been good at all with only Mallet inspiring people to sing and despite his best efforts.. it hasn't worked. I prefer the South Stand to any other part of the ground. I like the view, I think it's better to have atmosphere coming from there, I genuinely think it's the players preference. Just an opinion.

Your very thick skinned apparently. I still would like to send that message out. However, I would like to meet more and more people who are either positive or negative about us. We do take on board all advice and suggestions (within reason) and would like to speak to the person personally rather than talking over the internet.

Mallet is only doing what Timber Jim does for Portland Timbers, its all about having fun, making noise and being a proper football fan of which we don't have that many of. We have way too many middle class toffs/prawn sandwich brigade at out club that really need to get a life rather than moaning becuase somebody is making a atmosphere in the ground. You can easily join in with mallet and watch the game, which you should do as you are showing support. A little clap, a fake smile and shouting do come on Shrowesbury rasberry cordial tonight if you win is just * supporting. You may as wel stay at home if your going to support a team like like that, people need to start showing more passion just like timmy rather than being boring jumped up toffs and complaining. If people would actually sing up there would be no need for timmy to be drumming and waving his flag at the front. So anybody who doesn't sing and and shout and wave their arms about like an octopus suffering from Tourette's is a middle class toff? What a stupid post. Okay, I couldn't make the game on Saturday due to me not being able to afford a £45 train ticket back from university, but I've been enough times this season and I know exactly what you're on about. Personally, I like singing and join in every time I can but out of the 5000 or so Town fans who go to most games, maybe a hundred sing? And thats generous. That does not in any way make the other 4900 worse fans or a 'prawn sandwich' brigade. Honestly, how on earth do you expect to attract people to your group when you and Ed both act like deluded narcissists? I'm sure you're both nice lads in real life but on here you come across like a right pair of tits sometimes. And who gives a **** about the Portland Timbers.

I admit defeat its never gonna work, how can it in a town like Shrewsbury, it will work in lesser places like Accrington, York, Newcastle and Aldershot, but Shrewsbury's too good a place to have any sort of Ultras group. Raspberry cordial anyone?

Raspberry cordial anyone? Newcastle, averaging 42000 this season, a lesser place? Jesus wept. Your making less sense than ever Dand. If you manage to get a group of like minded individuals to sit/stand together and make some noise then great, well done, have a doughnut. But let all those individual fans (however and wherever they choose to be in thr ground) do whatever they want, and don't EVER slate anyone who doesn't want to do what you do as less of a fan than yourself.

Family Stand, Block 14, Corporate Guys... No, as i've already said.... the view is better from the South Stand (again, in my opinion) and I believe it's better for noise to come from behind the goal and I genuinely believe it's what the players want.

A lot of stuff has been written about the man on this thread, but do people really know him? Have any of the detractors tried to engage him in conversation and let their feelings be known? Why the cheap, snide remarks? As already said he has a heart of gold and it's in the right place, his style may not suit all and his language will offend. Next time I see him the Brooklands I'll let him know some peoples feelings. sounds a bit like the way STFC operate, printing off threads and rushing them off for someone to read How's that for a cheap and snide remark. It was a genuine offer to have a chat with and let him know how some people feel, sod it what do I care I sit in 17.

Chill out everyone!! Im sure we won yesterday, pretty sure the atmosphere was ok yesterday and as good a its ever been at the prostar in the last quarter! A word of advice to Timmy around swearing and jobs a goodun, I had to ask him to pipe down the expletives last year in front of my ten yr old and he obliged for remainder of game but carried on with all his other stuff which i dont have any issue with.

Having sat in the south stand for the last couple of games for a change, I can't say I found him particularly objectionable. In fact, it was preferable to the usual moaning morons I've sat next to this season. Nor I'm I especially worried by what effect it has on my 7 yr old - who just thinks he just a bit mad. However, I'm not sure it has very much effect on the crowd. Surprise, surprise the noise level went up when we scored and we started to play well.

Well from what i recall it was you who had a bit of a go at i think at Samtheshrew, the plan at the begining was that everybody who sang in the middle of the riverside by the buffet would be gathered in block 17 due to a similar proximatey, this would have been great if it had happend from that block but it didn't. Then i sort of remember a lot of us from block 17 moving to block 9 due to a despute over a drum i believe, although not 100% sure i think i recall your name being mentioned as the reason. I apologise if this isn't true.

I apologise if this isn't true. I objected to a drum, but then so did a lot of other people in 17. In my opinion we didn't need a drum anyway and personally I was not bothered if the Ultra's wanted hang in 17. I spent many years in the Riverside to the left of the buffet and that's why I sit where I do now. You may or may not be surprised to know that some of us in 17 join in with the singing and chanting and guess what we have, on occasion even started a chant/song, not aimed at the opposing fans I may add, but getting behind the team Frankly your accusation is bizarre, but there go.
