Hearing plenty of positive reports on Radio Shropshire about Mallet and his antics with a flag today.Wasn't there myself but well done to him if he whipped the crowd up.

Was very entertaining but I'm not sure if he should be doing what he did. It's not a good thing to encourage children to do and some people might not like what he's doing.
Personally I feel we need someone like that but needs to calm down sometimes and let us enjoy the match

I don't have a problem with him but does he really need to critisize fans for not singing by swearing at them ?

Every time i seen him at a game his been extremely worse for wear. I remember a very cold night at the Gay Meadow and he always used to have some home made wine on the go in ther Riverside and god did it put hairs on your chest lol

Fair play to him. Could see him waving his flag, if that's what needed to get the south stand singing then full credit to him. I can't see how anyone can criticise the lad as long as he's not having a go at anybody else of course. All looked positive from block 18, if it wasn't then about time someone told him to shut the f*ck up !

It was just one of those days, the stewards just let the mallet do what he wants to and thats perform and get the crowd going. We did sort of try to pull some strings to let mallet do what he wants to do and they must have listened. mallet had the whole second half to spur the crowd and what a job as south stand conductor. well done timmy!!!

All fair enough. But if you asked the 1000 or so in the south stand if they enyoyed TM's antics how many do you reckon would say it was great ! 10% maybe ? Drumming up support is great. Having a go at people who don't want to sing is another. On this occasion I haven't heard anyone complaining so fair play to him. Lokks like the guy done well !

I like the people who moan about the atmosphere being rubbish, but don't like someone who makes a difference!!! Strange.
South Stand was dead until Mallet turned up 15 minutes late and didn't get alot better until the 2nd half. Noise will spur the players on in our 6 must win home games.
Keep up the good work Mallet!

Think what he is trying to do is great, but i think the way he is going about it is all wrong and will sooner or later alien himself with the club and many fans who he is having a go at.
we have to accept that not everyone who goes to a football match wants to stand up and sing, most, irrespective of which club they support, only get involved to the action on the pitch, myself included.
if i wanted to get up and sing i would, and have done in my past. now i just want to watch the game and get involved when the spirit takes me, not when im being told i should.
would have had far more effect, imo, if he had concentrated his efforts on those who keep proclaiming that they want to sing all game and give the team non stop support, yet despite these proclamations, time and time again spend half the game in silence like the rest of us.
needs to focus his attention where its needed and wanted imo.

If you don't like him, I noticed plenty of seats in the family stand available.
Perhaps he shouldn't go down to blocks 11 and 12 but i'm in full support of him doing his stuff in 8, 9 &10.
He wants the best for the team and does a good job as it's dead without him

If you don't like him, I noticed plenty of seats in the family stand available. The thing is people should be able to sit where they want without getting abuse for not singing I admire the bloke for trying to make an atmosphere and I used to get really annoyed with the lack of people who sing. But Ive realised that plenty of people want to go to football and not make a noise, thats their choice

As mentioned above, we have to win all of our remaining home games. Mallet was fantastic yesterday and should take all the credit for the better atmosphere in the South Stand in the second half, particuarly the last half hour.
There are far too many people who sit in what should be singing areas, such as Block 10, and only come for a sleep. It p**ses me off. It p**ses other people off. As already mentioned, if you're going to do that go in the Family Stand or Block 13.
Just a quick one on the Ultras, no it didn't go too well yesterday but we'll continue to be there. It was never going to work brilliantly yesterday if we're all going to be honest, these things take time.

Ed, people can sit where they want and choose not to sing or not
Yes it would be nice if everyone sang but facts are they dont
If you put posts like the above on a regular basis then I hate to say it but you and your group will become very unpopular

Why "should" they be singing areas? Have they been designated so? 80% serious question, I've only ever been in the South Stand once, no-one told me I "should" be singing.

no-one told me I "should" be singing. You clearly haven't met Mallet then It's just my opinion, behind the goal is where noise should be coming from. When I say that, I mean the whole stand. That isn't going to happen for a while yet, but if more and more people sing then we'll get close and closer to it. As I say, it's just my opinion.

Thing is though, for every one person who thinks a stand "should" be singing there's another who thinks it "shouldn't". I see this as just like the anthem discussion the other day - you're trying to force something that comes naturally. From what is said elsewhere, people had started to gravitate to 18/19, which isn't that far off from the relative position of the singers at the Meadow. Surely it's better to consolidate and unite what's already happening than cause a split?

Ed, whilst I admire your ambition, if you think your going to eventually have the whole of the South Stand singing then I feel you may eventually be disapointed The sad facts are there are only 3 blocks who normally sing but in reality you could probably put all of the people who sing on a regular basis into one block Good luck to you but as I said above, you may want to change your attitude and not wish that other fans p*ss off
