.....stay away supporters with negative posts all afternoon on this board.
Town controlled the whole game apart from 10 mins before half time.
OK you could not go for any number of reasons but why pick up on the downside.
Howie had three saves to make, two you would have expected him to keep out and one which he was unsighted was top draw.
Any team which wins away in any cup against a team from one league below deserve credit.
Job done, next round please.

This opinian was verified today as i watched the Man u Man city game in a Alty Pub full of "sham" U fans giving it all that about the Champions - err but is old trafford 5 miles up the road - and they are not there - True fans!!!!

DIDN'T WE HAVE THIS ARGUMENT BEFORE ABOUT POSTING ON THIS BOARD.
Anyone can write what they like - if you react to every post you'll go mad ...
I listened to the last 10 minutes on Shrewsweb it started with ....
"It looks like the town players have given up " to which I thought oh my what's the score. (0-0 of course !!)
10 seconds later " GOAL" and were through ...
as they say - funny old game ...
Those Sham utd fans were probably season ticket holders turfed out for the 10,000 city fans . Just a thought

When I got back from Alty I prepared four tacos and set about reading the MB.
Some of the negativity in the posts made during the game I could not belive. Was that the game I watched I thought.
Yes post what you feel, but what about. Sounds like Tinno and the Ridler have got it sorted or Great for Ryan scoring on his comeback from injury.
Lets be positive.

The comments were about the game the commentators watched. If their commentary didn't reflect the game then that is probably where your problem is. As it was the parts of the game I listened to were liberally sprinkled with comments such as, "poor football", "Town can't keep hold of the ball" and the like. Meanwhile the main goalmouth action corners et cetera was at the Town end. The clear impression was that for the last hour Shrewsbury Town were dreadful. Maybe Gerry and Andy weren't at the game either.

Howie did not have one save to make in the second half.
A couple of corners he punched clear.
We were in control.
How was the goal describe, cos in my book it was one of the best we have scored this season.

It was clearly a good move between Aiston, Cramb and Lowe.

That's out of order Opinions expressed by those not at the game are generally as a direct result of comments made by the commentators, who presumably are watching the same game I can certainly recall you being on the message board during away games in the past and i'm sure you made the odd comment or two back then

I posted during the game, while listening to Shrewsworld.
I think a lot of what's posted during the game is a gut reaction to the Commentary, not necessarily a logical well thought dissertation on "Why We're Crap". It is heat of the moment comments. Often in the chat rooms (why have we stopped using it?) the "Oh Crap" comments are balanced with "Yeah" comments.
While listening to the commentary and reading the boards, nothing seemed out of context.

.....stay away supporters with negative posts all afternoon on this board. OK you could not go for any number of reasons but why pick up on the downside. If you quote me do not cherry pick. I backed up my first line by saying the above. I have not said I go to every game home and away Prof and indeed cannot make the Meadow on Saturday due to work. Its just the total lack of confidence and negativity that gets to me. After last season the confidence thing is understandable among supporters. Very rarely listern to the internet commentry so cannot comment on those guys. Come on people lets me more positive. There was so much good from yesterdays game. 1. We won. 2. Howie, kept us level when they had a 10 min purple patch. 3. Tinno and the Ridler, solid. 4. Sedge moving to centre half when Stephens came on. 5. Aiston, a constant threat. 6. Lowe, back after injury and scoring. Sorry if some of you feel offended by my original post on this thread, but yesterday was alot like Accrington away at the start of the season. Nice people, cheap good food in the ground, and we won 1-0, when we could have lost 1-0. Lets rejoice and be POSITIVE

Well said Hammerhill. When things weren't going well yesterday we still battled, and worked hard. People expect total football all the time, no chance. Alty closed our players down, but we still produced some good stuff, and could have been out of site by half time but for top defending from Alty and a fantastic double save from Coburn. Aiston was great yesterday took the ****, back 4 solid, Darby won his fair share of headers, just didn't drop to a Salop player. He was unlucky with his chance, cleared of the line. Suppose it's his fault the defender was there. Couldn't believe the amount of moaning at full time yesterday and go and watch Telford
