Does anyone know a funny one? Just sat through Friends when even Stevie Wonder could see the jokes coming. Now a double bill of Will and Grace (Mrs sam has sent me out for pointing out how crap it is !!). Add to this Ally Mcbeal, Sex in the city etc, etc, etc. I do actually feel sorry for them if this is the height of humour for them !!

Cheers, Frasier but to name two,
and of course the funniest show ever, the Simpsons, a show which you can watch over and over and still find new jokes each time.

The Simpsons is class. Friends does have its moments and the charactors of Pheobe and Joey are great. And of course a certain Jennifer is on it

will accept Cheers and Mash no probs. Simpsons yes is tops.
But in the last 15 years in non cartoon comedy they seem to have undergone a humour bypass. Frasier is soooooooooooooooooo tiresome, mixing stereotyping to the cringe degree with an atempt at intelectual humour, which they had to subsequently tone down cos most americans didn't get it (source = Kelseys autobiography) which resulted in a mess few understand.
So, I stand corrected, a funny non cartoon american comedy in the last 15 years anyone?

It's a question of taste. I think Friends is fantastic, especially the earlier series. Will & Grace is OK as well. Frasier is bloody funny. To be fair their sitcoms tend to be better than ours, so many of ours are just plain lame.

Anyone remember Sledgehammer.
It was about a cop that talk to his gun.
Central after News at Ten, for 25 mins, but it was more than 15 years ago.

The Superbowl is bloody hilarous yet they only show it once a year What the hell is that all about, why do no commentaters ever know what decision one of the four hundred referees give is for? Why can you not just have one team? Why does it take them an age to find the ball after a play ? Why do players who have no intention of touching the ball during a play run around like George Michaels toilet attendant? Its top notch comedy !

Larry Sanders and Seinfeld are, I think, the two best American comedies of the last ten years. And on the cartoon front South Park and Family Guy remain brilliant, and The Simpsons was great till about 4 years ago (the newer ones aren't very good at all, really) I loathe Friends and Will and Grace

Family Guy is quality.
Now living in Texas I can understand most of the humour in King of the Hill ( where it is based on)
My favourite, which I cant believe hasnt been mentioned is Becker. Ted Danson is class in this, I'd recommend it to anyone.
Friends ran its course IMO.
