There is the same amount of sensible and witty stuff around on B&A as always but maybe we're paying the price of success? As the board membership has grown so has the amount of rubbish you have to wade through to get to the senisible stuff. Not surprisingly, as B&A has grown, it has lost a bit of its community-feel. It seems to me that previously B&A largely policed itself and mostly people knew where the boundaries were. Unfortunately, over this year there seems now increasing amounts of stuff which has to be formally moderated and people who say things online that they probably wouldn't dream of saying to person's face. One of the main problems is people who simple think they have to post on every thread. I'd just encourage them to think before you post. It's not compulsory to post on every thread. There are several recent joiners on here who I'd be happy to see the back off but I retain the (possibly naive) hope that either they'll grow bored with B&A or simply pipe down over time. Top post  |

Firstly Neil, I think it’s incredibly unfair to list Sam amongst the more troublesome members. He has barely posted for weeks having been in Spain and always argues his opinions in a calm, concise and clear manner. You clearly have not done your research. The suggestion of arranging a ‘punch up’ is laughably childish and I will treat it with the contempt it deserves. Plus I would absolutely batter the s**t out of SalopStu, it is hardly a fair fight. I myself try to avoid ‘clogging up’ the board with petty disputes. Unfortunately, I am the victim of relentless STALKING and HARASSMENT by a multitude of B&A members including Blazingfury1992 and convicted football hooligan Don’t Believe The HYPE. If you bother to read the majority of my off-topic postings, the vast majority are made in self-defence. I do try to ignore the likes of SalopStu (and specifically did so on 4 occasions yesterday) but there comes a point where I cannot bite my tongue any longer. I accept that I have played my part in B&A becoming a poor messageboard, but I genuinely feel that there are other much more culpable people. What constructive ideas do you have to preserve the future of the forum? I would certainly be all ears. It's all your fault this has become a bad messageboard This thread is about the constant annoying and pathetic childish comments, this has to rank up there pretty highly |

Have to say I am somewhat baffled by the array of new posters and the manner in which they post.
Would also like to point out to the originator of this thread that its hardly mature having an image of a cartoon character giving the bird, but then again its an improvement upon the SS insignia I believe you had as one of your previous pictures.
As for welshshrew, I may be wrong but suspect he is still upset by the antisemitic comment which was posted by yourself Heavenly

This has always been a nice open messageboard and long may it remain so
My own personal opinion is that Crippen should be banned, the amount of things that he gets away with is unbelievable
I reckon we can add pilch to the list for not being fair, he put crippens karma from like -710 to +10 and I explained to him that this is not fair and is screwing people over who smite Crippen on a regualr basis
Pilch is biased because Billy scarrat was on -4 then it went to +20 I Pmed him saying so and said not your buissness and called me childish when infact he is
Pilch is abusing the whole system
Karma represents wether you make good or bad posts and is not worth taking note of if it is going to immaturely tampered about with as a sick joke
Its a two way street you know
Oh and about the fight Geoff, you are one hell of a sore loser, We arranged to have a punch up at the oaklands and you werre saying how your going to give me a dig to remember but you never turned up ya pussy cat puff

What has Geoff done to deserve the stick he does?
He posts very infrequently now, and he posts his opinion just like everyone else does on this forum.
If we all had the same opinion, internet messageboards would be very boring, its the immature people who take things like Karma etc seriously.
At the end of the day, it is an internet message board.

why what is it, i notice yours is negative For what it is worth: If someone agrrees strongly with your post they may give you a bonus point on your karma score. If they are not so happy they may "smite" a negative point from your score. In a perfect world that would be all there is to it but unfortunately some people take great pleasure in smiting people they don't like for no other reason and some people take the karma score far too seriously. A certain moderator has also had "fun" with some posters karma scores which has not gone down well universally. Basically ignore the karma and concentrate on good posting and debate |

Karma is a joke, we have people on minus millions to plus god knows how much, this board has been around for along time, its unfortunate some mostly new members have pulled the standards down and older members are not bothering anymore, it's a real chore at times to moderate

Can't argue with that, but I'd add that it's very irritating that these people post the virtually same comments repeatedly - often in the same thread.
