I see it's meant to open at 10am today. It will be interesting what difference it makes on journey times.

I'll be travelling that way at about 2:30 this afternoon - hopefully will make plenty of difference as I'm thoroughly hacked off with spending hours getting through the M6 / M5 junction

I thought that the toll road was being phased in throughout this week so that only local drivers will be using it for the start of the week until it is open fully to all motorway traffic?

I believe it opens for all this morning, 2 pound a pop for cars...five pounds for vans and ten pounds for lorries..
Bit harsh considering the amount of cash that motorist already spend on road tax and petrol? Apparently it'll be the first of many if it becomes a success...

I suppose they can charge that much as it's an option to the motorist - they have other routes they can take. Saying that it has been built using tax payers money.
I'm pretty sure the price is set to rise in the new year as well

Careful guys and girls it will not be connected to the M6 till later. Just for local traffic at the moment. The head man has just been on 5 Live.

It opens to motorway traffic (M6/M42) at the weekend, only local traffic can join it until then

Heard on the radio this morning that the person responsible is hailing it as a massive step forward and described it as 'an early christmas present'. I take it that its a present from all those people who have been fined for speeding.
How ironic that that built the toll road to get from A to B quicker?
