I disagree Jeevsey, just because a large number of people sing this song at england games it doesnt excuse it. my point was that it is sung at England games by the majority as a song of support. those that sing no surrender at the end of it do, the rest sing the alternate words, keep me english, keep me english etc etc

I'm just stating a few simple points about how the club has to go about things.. put it this way, i report you to a steward for throwing something/chanting something what would you expect the steward to do? btw you have't said/thrown anything and the steward hasn't seen anything, so it's just my word. i'm not saying the club aren't doing anything, it is a blame culture we live in and anything we do has to be done with proof . I couldn't agree more. I spend a lot of time advising businesses who are being 'taken' by employees, often for very bogus reasons. I'm just trying to make the point that, as the club are aware of what happened, they are obliged to take whatever steps are practicable, to ensure that it doesn't happen again. If they don't, and it does, not being able to prove which specific individual carried out the act, on this occasion, would be no defence as far as the HSE are concerned. However, if as MeoleShrew says, preventative action is being taken, then it will presumably be ok.

Do you know the individual or is it just as been stated before when people don't agree with your opinions resort to Child like insults.

Do I take it that this is the same crew that some (considerable) years ago, had a reasonable reputation amongst the 'knuckledragger' community, but are now just a laughing stock?

Just leave them be with there song and if you dont like it move rather than try and insite the situation further Hmm ok Pricey - by that logic if we are offended by things we should just move around until we finally give up watching football either that or we try and clean up our act as fans of a club If someone in front of me calls their player a monkey I will speak to them about it. I am not going to move from where I normally stand because some racist chooses to be abusive.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls:
If no one has a problem with it Im going to ditch this thread into the archive board. All this thread is now doing is going round and round and giving more attention to the bunch of people who stand to the right of the riverside buffet.
I will ditch it in 10 mins....tar

I am not going to move from where I normally stand because some racist chooses to be abusive. The argument was about the No surrender song, no-one has tried to defend racist songs any more than bottle throwing If we are not careful, going to the match will be like going to church

Err Dave dont be stupid - im a rasist now am i cos i said that reacting to the song is making matters worse - you need to calm down about this mate and have a think ITS not that important really is it??? Oh and i remember very cleary an incident where i sat next you at Lincon where a man we both identified made a rasisit monkey nosie at a Lincon player and you did nothing - easy to say you will do something but to actually do it is another matter as was proved. All in all its a song thats been around years --- at all English Football clubs (including Prot Vale last night) and there is very littel you will ever get done about it - in fact by reacting to it matters have as been proved gotten worse. Its just a football chant. Whats next, sheep shaggers will get the B and A moral majority no vote and we will start booing that? Come on its a footy game you expect some lads/boys/naughty stuff to go on dont you??? i say again just leave it be!
