I just note in the FAQ's at the NM that the seat colour is 'still under discussion'
Maybe I'm a cynic but what crock of s***.
Are they really saying that the order has not yet gone in for the seats!!
Lets face it they know they'll be a lot of grief when they announce it's blue and white so lets keep it secret for a while and then maybe we can come up with some excuse about orders being wrong or amber not available at this late stage....

The majority of answers on the FAQ section are pathetic.

THE SEATS MUST BE BLUE AND AMBER -------- NOTHING ELSE CAN POSSIBLY BE ACCEPTABLE UNLESS THE DIRECTORS ARE BLIND.

Apparantly the chairman prefers White due to its clean look.
Bit racist really.

They should do them in that random multicoured pattern as seen at the GABBA in Brisbane.
That way, at least it'll look like there is a crowd, rather than 8,500 empty seats.

They should do the proper thing and have red ones....... in a token of friendship to our friends from The Racecourse....... after all their seats are Blue and Amber arent they,or have I got that wrong. ............................................. Gordon Bennett this could only happen to us.......... How the HELL can they be anything BUT Blue and Amber

What are the odds the seats from The Meadow will be going there to save some cash?

The lack of information is in my view pathetic. The football club must surely be able to tell us at what stage ticket prices are likely to be discussed, what colour the seats are and how big the bloody bar's likely to be. You are doing a fantastic job Whitters with the New Meadow pics of keeping the fanbase up-to-date with what's going on. But elsewhere, there is definitely the same lack of consultation, forward thinking and communication that is blighting this club, and really could threaten its progress.

To be honest - its pathetic that there is even a question over the colour of the seats it should'nt even need to be up for discussion. Anything over than Blue and Amber is not acceptable and should the case be that Roland Wycherley wants Blue and White he should know better. Question needs to be answered with Blue and amber immediately.

We appreciate the questions being answered, but they don't really tell us anything that we didn't already know...

Which business would build a new facility, build it in a fashion that goes against the corporate identity, against the desires of the majority of it's loyal customers, just to satisfy the whim and ego of the chairman....
Surely not Shrewsbury Town?

As far as I'm concerned the directors can have white seats if they want them - provided they are going to be solely responsible for cleaning them.

Surely not Shrewsbury Town? when had the club ever announced a corporate identity? as far as i know the colours have been blue/white, blue/amber, blue/white and currently blue/amber.....

Ian, the vote for the recent home kit and also the questionnaire for fans distributed by shrewsTRUST last season demonstrate that the overwhelming majority of fans consider the club's colours to be Blue and Amber.
I feel the club would be scoring an own goal by putting white seats in with blue as opposed to amber.
It is evident you feel this is a petty point but to many fans, my self including, it will make a very pleasant difference.
Given that this move, and its success or failure, can help or be detremental to the club's short and long term future, it surely makes sense for the club to go with the majority on this one.
For something which will incur nothing extra in costs, it could be good PR and goodwill to the fans, and any businessman will tell you that is good business!!

Does anyone remember at molinoo, the first stand they built, the John Ireland stand, had red seats? They had to replace them. I want my seat, for which I am prepared to pay a high price, to be either blue, or amber. If my seat or the one next to me is white, I'll paint the barsteward!

the special dye that is used in amber seats contains saffron which adds considerably to the cost therefore white is a much cheaper option, probably saving in the region of £10 per seat.

It's not the blue and white saver account. It's not the blue and white fanzine. The county shield isn't blue and white. Or the town one. The club badge isn't blue and white. Even Shrewsweb isn't written in blue and white.
I think a pattern is emerging.......

I think if you check the archive they DID make just such a statement a few years ago when the announcement was made for the home kit when Ratcliffe was in charge - the one with the blocks of amber in the arms I believe... All these comments defending the seat colour of white makes me think you know something we don't Ian

I am sure that a few years ago the board announced the then new kit would be blue and amber developing the product image. this was from Shrewsweb's first ever q&a : Dale Skitt Hi Roland, I would just to like to say you're doing a great job of running the club with your fellow directors, keep it up! What I would like to know is will the blue and amber stripes (or blue and amber in some sort of form) remain on our new home kit for next season? Roland - Hi Dale thanks for your kind words about running the football club we do appreciate it, the kit will be blue and amber as shown on the website and we will stick with the blue and amber so thanks very much for your question. this was about 6 years ago.
