From the NLP - Keith Sayfritz "We have planning permission for a new 10,000-seater stadium which will give us a lot of additional revenue. We are in the process of finalising discussions with developers that will mean housing on our existing ground. We hope to make an announcement over the next 3 weeks or so and hopefully start building towards the back end of this year."

I will believe this when I see the builders start work.

For Keith to go on the record with such a statement suggests that he believes this to be the case.

Very encouraging...
I agree Kickin, I don't think the club would make such a statement unless they were confident that the building would start this year. The club have been very careful with any statements regarding the New Meadow in the past...they don't normally say owt unless they have real reason to do so...fingers crossed...
By the by, does anyone have any idea how long the construction would take?
One more thing, why do we read this in the NLP? Why not through the clubs own media? Has such a statement been made on the clubs website or in the programme?

It does sound very encouraging . What stumbling blocks could our wonderful tory council throw in the way of its development I wonder?

There has to be something like a 6 week excavation I believe, as to what Keith has told the NLP he told me and the missus the same thing first hand last tuesday. Contract negotiations are in the final stages, but nothing signed yet.

Good news indeed. I know we have seen what the outside of the ground will look like but does any one know if there are plans of the inside eg seatting , privet boxes, buffets , conference sweets, etc that we could see as they must have them drawn up by now if works to start at the end of the year.
ps when do they decied whitch is the home and away ends. be nice to see where the supporters club will be to .

I would say that its unlikely that they will have boxes made out of hedging to be honest, what would happen if birds nested in them or they got Dutch Elm disease?

Thanks for the answers Ian,
townfanincrewe, I sent an email to the club asking whether there would be executive boxes as I think it would be major mistake if there wasn't...will be interesting to see the ins and outs of the design...

Stutty, i seem to remember (but i might be wrong)that within the plans there are no executive boxes, at the time i thought this would be a bad move as boxes are not just used on matchdays but throughout the week in general at most F/clubs for bussiness meetings and small private functions etc, which in turn is extra revenue for the club.

If Mr Poole and his "Non match day revenue" strategy come into play then we will have extensive conferencing and corporate facilities

much of the new meadow has been discussed , as to when its going to happen ,if its going to happen, now we have a little hint that within 3 weeks we will get some kind of official announcement, for work to progress, as Town fans thats brilliant the fact that its going to happen, now the debate starts whats it going to be like inside the ground? i'm sure theres going to be many a post agree/disagree what the internal will be or look like, as to boxes, and whether it will be all seated or part terrace, costs for supporters, park an ride, facilities etc i'm not getting carried away just happy that things are progressing

I thought it was 18 - but could be wrong.
This news is very encouraging though.
And Whitters confirming there are executive boxes is great news, I'm sure the club can make loads of dosh out of those.

So the stands will be smaller than the gay meadow stand then.

I guess it will have less rows that the meadow but it depends what angle they're built at. Dean Court Bournemouth has 18 rows of seats but the stands are quite steep, giving a bigger effect.
Looking on the brightside I'd guess the exec boxes will be at the back of the stands making them larger too.
