I guess the Leigh game will go back to the Saturday if the FA Trophy tie goes to a replay? Someone suggested on another thread that we could play Leigh on the Monday and Telford on the Wednesday...

1) we don't want any trouble 2) we don't know what information the police have access to that we don't
I really do hate noon games, the atmosphere just seems to die, it is too early for footie!
I have to miss this game because of work, i had time scheduled for friday game, gutted
But what i do say is that the more we do to rid ourselves of the scum element the better it will be and the fewer decisions like this we will have
as long as STFC and TUFC have firms associated with them we will be searched on our way into away games, have ridiculous levels of policing and funny kick off times
the challenge before us is to prove our good behaviour, and be good ambassadors for our club, and not let the minority dictate the enjoyment of the majority

what an absolute joke, Last time the pigs said the game needed to rearranged for the england game, so whats the excuse now?
and after lauding the fans for their behaviour at the last match why penalise us this time round?.
by re arranging the match to 12.00 they are admitting the hooligans have won and they cannot cope...PATHETIC!
Laptop, if you cant provide an answer then at least let us know whos made this ridiculous decsion.

Can't see how anyone would expect Laptop to come on here and justify decisions on a thread such as this, when utter crap is being spouted by the likes of Duncow and Jamo.
And, no, I don't agree with the game being moved to a 12pm kick-off.
It should remain at 3pm and be policed in exactly the same excellent manner that the Hereford game was.

To be fair all the burberry boys were hanging out in the Hop before the last Telford game before the sad middle aged hooded ring leader got a call on his mobile. and then announced to his crew to leave quietly to avoid allerting the police. (not that they needed alerting as they were outside with the cameras). At which point all the morons left in one great gaggle and headed off to coleham. Pure comedy! Was an odd sight to see so many un finished drinks littering the pub.
The point is though while morons like these are still wandering around on big match days, we will continue to get a bad reputation.
On saying that I can't see what difference a midday kickoff gives apart from having more time after the game to cause trouble!

Blimey lads, each and every time sommat like this happens you spit the dummy...
I suspect the police have their reasons otherwise they would have left it well alone, it’s three hours difference lads. **** me, no ones asking you to turn up at the ground at 8:00am now are they? The lack of trouble at both the Hereford and Telford home games (which did attract a number of undesirables) gives a clear indication that police are obviously doing sommat right aren't they? Let them do there job...you'll be the first to moan if anything did go wrong on the day and it would no doubt be directed at the police. If it helps keep trouble down then I'm all for it, especially with the Town's move and the New Meadow and whathaveyou being very much in the spotlight...
Just set yer alarm a little earlier eh?..

Don't you worry about the clique matey, this board dos'nt exist just for his personal mutterings. If you have a contribution to make put it on, the broader the opinions the stronger the board

It still amazes me.
Many other derbies, which attract higher attendances and potentially more trouble, continue to be played at 3pm on a Saturday around the country.
But Shrews vs Telford in the FA Trophy has to be moved.
I mean, really...

Yes several of them have, although not all, for example liverpool vs everton 3pm saturday arsenal vs spurs 3pm saturday but is changing the Town kick off really going to solve that much? I very much doubt it. The only people inconvnienced are the fans.

To be honest, there are examples you can look for either way.
It's a shame that it's not a 3pm kick off, but I certainly have less of a problem with that than some of the ott policing last year.
Thankfully the policing at the last two games appears to have been spot on. I wonder if the fans meeting with the police had any effect on this?

if the fans meeting with the police was truely successful then they would have listened to the majority of fans who would prefer games to be played at the proper time

I very much doubt it. The only people inconvnienced are the fans. I agree Ant, its the fans who are going to suffer as per usual. If some morons want to start a fight, this kick off time is not going to make any difference at all. With the vast amount of police that will undoubtably attend the game, there is no excuse for them not to be able to control a crowd of 5,000 people.

Now I think of it I'm quite pleased! I can start on the beer at about 2.30(Well I might have a couple before the game too!) and drink straight through to the wee hours!
