You are cliche on here Lets face it if someone doesn't want to be in your cliche you brand them "immature" or "idiots" If someone disagrees with your opinions you all stick together whether you agree or not There are certain people on this bored who are VERY un popular due to stuff that is said on here but would never be said out in the open in front of the people involved If someone writes a message about one of the cliche its deleted by another..............yet when a person who isn't in the cliche got slated and that was allowed to stay on here I don't think the cliche is what the people have a problem with its the fact you all say stuff on here yet you would not say it to peoples faces. This can go back as far as the Dunbavin thing...Yes hes a poor keeper but that does not justify some of the personal critiscm he got (i.e. the E bay thing). You can all say it on here but if you had seen him in the street you wouldn't have dared You'll all come on here now defending each other caused not one of you dares to go against your cliche opinion Rant over would you say that to our faces ? whoever you are

right, probably gonna upset every town fan i know that uses this website by having this opinion but im gonna say it any way. i do feel this web site is very clique. In two different ways, there is the fact that it is only available to those with the internet, and so exclusive in that way... nothing can be done about that, but we are a small clique, considering the average crowd in relation to registered users on here! the board is a however the biggest collection of fans at the moment, and so has the largest voice. A generally regarded good thing! by me anyway, but most fans will use the shropshire star, radio salop, and god forbid!! the club for information! but thats not the issue here, well i don't think... so on i will ramble! the main clique i see is with the regular posters on the board, who know each other well. i rarely, well never! post but do read most of the comments and looking at it from an outsiders veiw you can definatly see differences in the way people are treated, regarding if they post a lot or are new to the board. With the people i do know the differences in their responses becomes even more obvious. I agree that anyone can post on here but regular people/ posters are quick to join together in a group opinion and dismiss a new persons thoughts, shout it down, or sarcastically reply to what the original poster thought was a serious issue. And thus exclude them. Stereotyping is also a big issue on here, like how many wakemen-enders are reading this but are afraid to type due to the negative stereotyping by the clique, purely related to the slab of concreate they stand on every week?! but thats another issue, and im sure it'll be raised another day! A clique will naturally form in this environment, its a normal people thing to do, people form cliques with people who believe in the same things they do. yes there are slight differences in opinion eg if colin cramb is cr@p or not but it seems to me that the new member has to meet certain standards before they can be accepted and thus can then join the clique. Also the quick and heated defending of the clique label as mention before also shows me there is a clique. but no one has mentioned that this is particularly a bad thing, one definition: Entry: clique Function: noun Definition: friend isn't that what you are all trying to say??? Synonyms: bunch, cabal, camarilla, camp, circle, clan, club, coterie, crew, crowd, faction, gang, in-group, insiders, mafia (well i wouldn't say you were the mafia, tho a few dodgy deals are reported from time to time! ), mob, organization, outfit, pack, ring, set, society I honestly don't think its an intentional thing from anyone. It just a natural part of group dynimics, in any situation a new person has to meet the standards of the group and then find a role within, in order to fit in to the clique. i hope this makes some kind of sense, and that i haven't upset too many people, or put u all to sleep, jus an opinion from someone outside the group willing to show their name! see you all soon jojo

Thanks for the post Jo.
As we are quickly seeing the definition of the word 'clique' and the application of it to B&A is open to much subjection.
However looking more at the facts.
- B&A continues to grow in membership - Unlike 6 months ago guests can now post, remember the rivals board was all registration and many, certainly me, was against an open board.
But most importantly new people are continually added to this supposed 'clique' people go on about.
People of different ages, different sex, different backgrounds etc. - and this number is continually rising, of that there is no doubt.
I think it's worth noting that, bar those who set up B&A, everyone who people consider to be part of this 'clique' was once in the group consider to be the 'outsiders'.
I hope new people and those not personal friends with some on here continue to post and put forward their views.
B&A is a great community, don't be scared to be part of it.

Well Said Ant I have only been on B&A since the summer. Everybody as made me welcome. I have had many people disagree with some of my points of view, but it doesn't bother me one little bit. After all this board is a great forum for debate and it would be a sad day when everyone agree's with each other. I love the idea of a person coming on here as a guest too! The reason is quite simple and that is these guests tend to post interesting topics of conversation and maybe fearfull of the retribution their post might recieve, but who cares as long as it is interesting. My only critism is when people post nasty personal stuff against one another, but thats not making the board a Clique its just a form of cowardess, by people who haven't got the Bollox to tell theirs views face to face. The one thing I did like about this thread is the varied replies and the sensible responses (in a non-clique manner) Finally, the people who have posted on here under a false name, make yourself known and come and have a pre match pint somewhere and get to know more of the regular posters. I did that and made a lot of new friends.

No This board is no different to any other social gathering, except in the sence that I have no idea what anyone else looks like When I meet a group of people who i have never met before, starting a new job for example, I will generally keep my mouth shut and take note of how people interact, listen to conversations and gauge which people I am most likely to fit in with, not deliberately, but thats how I work in general. Slowly, I will begin to talk to these people, about work issues first cos that is something I feel confident about and expect to find some common ground, after a while, I will start asking about issues outside work, family, hobbies, other interests ect. One day I will meet up with them outside work and go for a drink and then all kinds of conversations are possible. Now the point is, that at the beggining of that paragraph, Im looking in thinking, " you all know each other and I feel a bit of an outsider, but by the end of it im thinking, these are a great bunch, I really enjoy being part of it.

Pab, can i award you the 3 clapping smiley's award for best post in a long time?: i don't have anything else to add but if you still[/i] think its a clique, listen to the personal stories from wiganshrew, throbsblackhat & norge. thses should be reason enough to disspell any 'cliqueyness' theories from your mind.......if they don't, take a look at the 'Register' and 'New Thread' buttons.....anyone can do it! therefore its not a clique!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
