Had a group of Animal Health people from Merial in Harlow Essex on the farm last week to see what happens at the sharp end(pun intened) of the business. One of them mentioned to me that it was a great trip for him as he had never been to Shropshire before and did not realise there were so many hills in the county. He thought some of the senceny was superb and the views stunning. It got me thinking as to where or which view best sums up our beautiful county the best. I think I may have decided on mine yesterday driving back from Brum. Just as the M54 finishes the road goes uphill before sweeping round a long right hander and goes downhill. For a few seconds the view there is my No 1 I think. From the Lawley and Caradoc to your left you can see the Long Mynd, The Brieddens, The Berwyns and right round to the Haughmond and Hawkstone. I think alot has to do with the fact that for miles you have not seen anything very interesting and have just got past Telford

The view from the top of Clee Hill is superb, but saying that the views all around our countryside are good.

If they work in Harlow everyday , seeing a tree would have been a plus ... concrete s**te-hole.
The train station at Harlow - a 1960's early concrete monstrousity has been made a listed building now....

For a few seconds the view there is my No 1 I think. Agree with you on this on Harmerhill - its a beautiful vista.....there's a similar one from my brothers house at the back of the Breiddan Hills. Great views across Melverley, Nesscliffe and North Shropshire.

The view from up Wenlock Edge is pretty special, reminds me of my youth. I love all the ghost stories and legends that there are around that area too.

Its nice to see that football supporters have such a sensitive side!
My fav view is the same as Harmerhill Shrew, you just know you're nearly home. The first time I travelled that road many years ago that view took my breath away.

A few nice views on the Ironbridge, Buildwas, Shrewsbury B road, especially overlooking the big bend in the River Severn- also the road I take to GM so the views are better after we have won

The Ironbridge to Shrewsbury road which passes through Buildwas, Leighton and Wroxeter is quite a scenic route, but I agree with Harmerhill about the 'best view in Shropshire'.

The view from the top of Rodney's Pillar is awesome on a clear day. Yep, cause you´re able to see the right side of the border. Seriously though, we are spoiled by our countryside and views. The drive from Shrewsbury through to Abersystwyth is particularly beautiful.

I had a chance recently to move and work abroad in Malaysia, parts of which people describe as paradise. For sure it's an interesting, lovely country but I realise that on a sunny day you just cant beat parts of Shropshire and the Border counties.

The view from Cothercote Hill on the Longden Road from South Shropshire to Shrewsbury is my favourite ever. You can see the hills, Wales, Shrewsbury, the Wrekin, the Power Station in fact examples of all aspects of Shropshire - I too would live nowhere else now.

A E Houseman's poetry puts into words (some of them extremely sad) some of the posts on this thread.
Just imagine being commanded to leave our great county and give up your life on a far off battlefield.
Sorry getting a bit deep......we are so lucky.

Yet, walking through the Dale End park looking up to Ironbridge is great aswell.

I always drive back to Bridgnorth the same way from any airport - Coming from the Wolverhampton road down Hermitage Hill, and Bridgnorth just appears. Every time I think "that's where I'm from"
Brown Clee, Clee Hills, Wenlock Edge, Stiperstones - Shropshire is a special place.
