Last couple of points Sean-
There's no doubt in my mind that the team's shirt should be blue and amber stripes for a long time to come. We need to have a shirt with identity like QPR or Sunderland have.

the commercial group need to take a hard look at themselves IF they feel the need to go Nike is more important than keeping the colours of amber and blue Calm down Matt. There are a range of opinions I want to bring out. As I said at the head of the thread It's just idle curiosity on my part.

My son has the latest kit and wears it all the time. We live in the South West and he proudly wears it to football practises. All the other kids have England or Man Utd shirts, he is the only one in blue and the colour looks really striking on the pitch amongst all the red and white. The kit is really smart, my only complaint is that the fabric is a bit shiny (unlike the last Patrick kit) which means that the top is always coming untucked - Darren Moss has ALWAYS got his shirt hanging out! Blue and amber are the colours associated with the town and should unquestionably remain!

Blue and Amber stripes, no question. Unfortunately I dont think we are big enough to go to Nike and get them to produce that for us, so its MG or whoever else we can get...............

...here, but don't think that this is all about Nike saying they can't do blue and amber. They might do if we show an interest...but I doubt we will... The situation is Nike would see whether they could introduce a blue and amber strip for us if we were interested in going with them as kit suppliers. We would not move to Nike if amber and blue were not an option, simple as. Dont think Nike are too big for us, if the club would want to go there then Nike would too, I'm sure...southend are there, hartlepool are there, even fliping Koblenz who I saw at the Kickers today wore Nike... Its just down to what the club want to see us in... By the by...Kickers 3 Koblenz 3, cracking game...

With regards the Nike thing - everyone take a look at Arsenal's away kit - it's damn class. I'm hoping at the least it'll be the next ASFC kit (provided we can put town badges on it etc)
Notice it's blue with amber piping - and a damn site better amber than the ORANGE that MG sportswear throw up.

a arsenal style blue and amber kit like the days when gerry daly and nigel pearson would be cool.. but regardless of who the kit manufactuer is.. for me.. its amber and blue - no contest - the away kit can be anything you like.. but like I said, our club has such an idenity with blue and amber stripes.. who would QPR fans feel if their kit was changed..!! also on a statistical front.. we are far more successful in amber and blue then blue and white
I am only one voice, just as anyone reading this.. but for me... amber and blue - there is no contest

If we are talking about what colours we want to see the team take to the field in it should be amber and blue as tradition dictates. With regards to replica shirt's it dosn't really matter. If someone is of the presausion to buy one , they will do so regardless of design or quality.

Blue & Amber, simple as that. Its the town colours although Im not sure where that originates I know a lot of people have questioned why we have blue on an away kit but its simply to make more money for the club. The away kit clash's quite a lot with other clubs so we have to have a third kit which can then be sold to the fans, people moan but at the end of the day you don't have to buy it

Ant, is that the plan for the ASFC? Are you planning to have a Nike kit that'll have the Town badge on? If so, can you order me one an all?

ASFC will look into getting a new kit at some point and that will be one of the options. If it did happen it would be great to order others so that town fans can have them too

If it's distant for the ASFC, let's self fund it for B&A?

I used to be a fan who whined about having to wear "no name" branded shirts but I've changed mind on this. The first consideration should be about the shirt manufacturer's reputation regarding ethical trading practices. I now no longer wish to be associated with Nike for this reason. Then, if it's about colour- I'm Blue and Amber!

Blue & White = Cardiff, Everton, Chelsea, Chesterfield, Peterborough, Wigan, Birmingham, Leicester etc, plus many foreign teams
Blue & Amber = Shrewsbury
If we change, we lose our identity (and you'll have to change the name of this site!)

Like the idea a lot Welshshrew - B&A could do with it's own kit. I'm sure Shakey could sort us the kit out as he has a contact with Nike.
This idea was mentioned on the site a few weeks ago though and hardly anyone replied.

Blue and Amber - Although looking at Mattsnappers website there have been many years when the predominant colour was blue Still, we should aim for the B&A stipes, I think.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, the season after we had the blue and yellow/amber stripe kit (1991-1992) Leeds united sort of copyrighted that style/colour kit for themselves to use as their away strip, Which would of forced us to a different style and colours. Perhaps forcing us into the very unique vomit top worn in the 92-93 season and then onto blue and white again.

The 1991-92 strip was yellow and blue tho, not amber and blue?

Town are Blue and Amber - They were when I started supporting them and are now. My view is that they should stay B&A. I think Luton changed there colours at one point, I think we did go Blue and White at one point (but amber came back). tradition must die hard. Think of how many clubs are blue and white and how many Blue and amber/yellow. We need to keep our identity. anyway - what hjappens to this website if we lose the amber?

It's got to be blue and amber for me.I think the socks should be changed though, as in poor light, I think players mistake the ref or the opposition for our own legs - hence stupid give away balls!!

Dunno about the copyright part, but I wore the blue/amber striped shirt in Ibiza that summer, and every Leeds fan I met thought I was wearing their away top
