Just been on the Radio Shropshire news that Bill Wingrove was arrested last Sunday in connection with an investigation with the theft of gate money from a Wrexham match at the end of last season (amount between £10,000 and £20,000). He was interviewed at Stoke Police Station and then released on police bail. B.W. describes the allegations as without foundation and states that he has cooperated fully with the police and given them information which he believes will widen the investigation and lead to his complete exoneration when detectives follow up the enquiry.

people should be careful what they post on here - special ref to the last post from texmexshrew - unless you have the intimate details of what happened at wrexham, in which case you are still a brave man to make such comments.

Bill Wingrove has made a statement on Shrewsweb, he said he went to Newcastle police station voluntarily on Sunday and WAS NOT arrested, I suppose we have to give the man the benefit of the doubt until proven guilty.... as for Colin Poole, it looks like the book has already been thrown at him, he'll be off soon.

Look the man came here with an 'apparent' history, obviously if he is a crook then he sweet talked the board very well at his interview and he comes across as very eloquent whenever he speaks to the press, but the man is innocent until proven guilty for crying out loud, I'm disgusted as anyone else that the name of STFC is even being associated with these allegations but we must let Wingrove carry on with his job until he is found guilty, and if he is found guilty, then I'm sure the board will have some very hard questions to answer from the supporters and rightly so.

North Wales Police said: "A 60-year-old male was arrested on Sunday in connection with an allegation of theft of money from Wrexham FC and was bailed pending further enquiries to re-appear at Wrexham Police Station."

Ah right, well someone's telling porkies then.... I think it's likely he drove down to the station voluntarily and he was then arrested under caution.

my stand is.. DONT KILL BILL
A football club, AFC Wrexham went into administration. Their accounts are therefore checked out. He was an employee and was in a position of authority at the time of the alledged missing money scandle.
everyone has a past - how many ripe virgins do you see getting married !! He was associated - only by a working capacity - with the dudes that have sent Wrexham into turnmoil (And thats another story) - so therefore he didnt come here sqeaky clean.
how many wanted Mark Wright as manager when he had been a naughty man bedding ladies that werent his
all 'we' know about Bill is what the Wrexham folk have told us. For me, Bill is an approcable man, he has worked VERY hard on the new meadow and also on the commercial side too - something that most fans dont or will ever see.
If he did do it then jail him !! But I believe what he has said and I stand by him. On a personal front, he is a gentleman and conducts business very professionally. I wish other people I deal with in my job were like him. He is also very helpful and is one of the few people who get back to you when others promise and dont. I personallly have nothing against Bill.
Mr Colin Poole on the other hand - well he's involved in solicitors and lets say I think its best if I dont post what I think of him or what I know about and indeed have personal experiences of. Im not scared but he has more money than me and Ill let him fall upon his own sword.

He was associated - only by a working capacity - with the dudes that have sent Wrexham into turnmoil He is a personal friend of Mark Guterman and defended him to the hilt in our interview with him in Issue 3. Pleased to here that the commercial side of things are coming along well. We will know about this once we get to the New Meadow and see the first set of accounts from there.

Is this the same Mark Guterman who has been "chairman" of Chester City and Wrexham and took both clubs almost to the brink of liquidation?
Is this the same Mark Guterman who claimed he was chairman and owner of Wrexham when in fact he never owned any shares in Wrexham and the REAL owner was a scum Property Developer called Alex Hamilton?
We've been warning you about Bill Wingrove for a long time. He might appear nice on the surface but beneath the sharp suit and the genial smile I reckon he knows a lot more than he is letting on.
Mark Guterman is now hated by supporters of Chester City and Wrexham.
I wouldn't be surprised if he pops up at Shrewsbury Town one day.
Although if you've already started building your stadium maybe not, as appears only interested in the land and property.
Mark Guterman is a liar and therefore guilt by association.

The one and only ALEX HAMILTON

While Hamilton is a first class **** he wasn't running Wrexham Football Club when Wingrove and Guterman was there, he was just the figure in the background.
So a lot of Wrexham's problems are down to Guterman and Wingrove and their mismanagement of Wrexham Football Club.

"he looks and sounds like a nice chap so it is ok"

Regardless of his innocenece or guilt, he should be suspended from his position untill he returns to the police station to answer bail and is either charged or released without charge, if he is charged then he should be sacked.
Thats what happens in most work situations with serious crimes, this allegation is also relevent to his current position at STFC so he should be suspended immediately without question.

And also, the fact he has been working hard behind the scenes on our ground and commercial side is no big deal at all
IT IS HIS JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
