The players we have are simply not good enough, skill wise or physically. Rochdale cruised the game, their defence mopped up everything and the keeper had very little to do apart from making his own mistakes. GP needs more than motivational/organisatioanl skills he needs 5/6 good signings else its Conference for us again. Im totally hacked of at the mo, tonight was pants and many others felt the same. Have you seen so many poeple leave so earlry??

Not a great Shock but i booed them off at the end of the game -but i think a mistake a has been made - nobody was slating Peters - more the same players who failed us under Quinn. I want peters to know the same poor players are not good enough and i want him to know that new signing are needed (Right and left wing for starters) Wasting Street out wide while Mr 60 min legs Martin struggles is madness stright from Chic no doubt quite Simpley only Luke had a good game for the 90 mins - possibley whitehead as well. the rest were in general poor. Lowe backers - come on i want a player who can do what he does every now and again for 80 even 90 mins but he does not - he was at his infuriateing crowd splitting best tonight!!!! Time to rest Chaillis for a while - hes gone - harts not in it And as for this improvment in the first 20 mins - looking back it means nothing and im sure GP would agree that, we can how an improvment when we have beat 11 men in anygame home or away. untill then peters will be treading water with the old players and problems Tongiht he found out how hard this job is going to be as the Shrewsfans will not back a team no matter how bad they play - the atmosphere was a representation of Salop fans expectation and letting Rochdale come to our ground and give us a lession on how to play is well below that Lots of problems - not many positives - ohhhh the good times are back!!!!

Sometimes some Town fans make me want to puke Not everyone was delighted with this appointment , and tonight was so average it was unbelievable, Rochdale knew all they had to do was score and it was game over, Lowe did get a couple of good balls over in the 2nd half, one of which 'luke' did not even bother going for on the far post, and as for our 'supersub' Darby would he score in the County League ? let alone the Football League

At least GP admits we lack quality. IMO that's a bl00dy improvement. As for Darby. He was the only forward who actually attacked a cross when it came in low towards the end on the game. It's all every well wanting 30 crosses a game but if they are poor(To close to the keeper : or nobody attacks the ball(Cheers Duane at least you tried) Then you're ****ing in the wind. Like Tim Gallon said we are not good enough, and we are going down.

b******s Pricey. Ryan's workrate was phenominal last night. Yes, he gave the ball away too much. But I'd love to know how many touches he had last night, everything seemed to go through him and he stuck 15-20 excellent crosses in the box.
As for booing, Gary Peters has expressly asked us to get behind the side. Therefore, we are letting him down.

If we believe that we are going down then we will.
In the year that we were relegated last time I remember the great support Swansea got from their fans. That - among other things - is what we are going to have to do at games.

I respect what you're saying Sean. However "singing our hearts out for the lads" isn't going to improve the quaility of crosses, or get Luke scoring again. I think it was fair to say we got behind them the season we went down.

Quite true I don't remember ever seeing the Riverside so empty with 10 mins to go, (although I do remember it being quite empty when we played Oswestry in the Cup in the mid 70's in the fog)

That - among other things - is what we are going to have to do at games. Totally agree Sean. I went to around 7 or 8 games at the Vetch that season, and they faced a similar situation to the one we find ourselves in now save for the fact that they were bottom of the table. The fans realised they were in trouble but the atmosphere they created was sensational. If we can get close to that, we will at least be giving a little.

How do we do it?

In honesty, I could not tell much difference between last night and when JQ was here.
Sloppy passing, midfield shockingly slow going foreward ( still on the half way line when the team have made a break and a cross put into the box ), poor ball control, playing high balls to the shortest player on the pitch, lack of balls ( metaphoricaly ), ball watching, not fighting for the full 90 minutes.
Tinson, Whitehead, Challis, Street, O Connor, Tolley, Darby all not good enough.
What realy worried me last night, was listening to GP on the radio afterwards. Stutered and muttered a lot. Didnt seem to have musc of an answer for anything really.

I think it was fair to say we got behind them the season we went down. Not at the right points in the season. Check the attached table: www.shrewsburytown.premiumtv.co.uk/page/LeagueTable/0,,10443~20021123,00.html The crowds at this time were around 2,600. We're not going to trouble the play-offs this year. We do have the chance over the next 6-8 weeks to pull ourselves clear to mid-table and save this club from obscurity.
