Can't say I'm confident about a manager who waits until the 11th hour before addressing problems that us unqualified amateurs have been banging on about for months.
However, reaching the play-offs and putting up a good performance in them will give him the benefit of the doubt as far as I'm concerned.

i would quess that the 50% who voted yes would have been shocked had quinn been sacked today
how could we get rid of him after winning such a big game and getting back onto target for the play offs ?

Sorry to harp back to last season again, but its worth thinking about.
On an awful run of defeats. Suddenly, 2 wins against Orient and Rochdale and there is a resurgance in confidence that we will survive. Look what happened.
Sorry but 1 good win does not mask the 3 preceding defeats, could just be masking the problems.
I stick by my beliefs on this one...

Come on, are we not over-reacting a little bit.
His aim was top 5. We are now top 5, we were top 6 untill the win, for crying out its not as if we were micing about in midtable.
As for the signings, yes we thought we should have made them moths ago, however it is only recently that we had started stuttering and struggling to pick up positive results.
Quinn made the changes and brought in two players, they've added balance to the side, he seems willing to stick with at least Darby upfront and has put Street in central midfield. Yes you will all argue he should have done this months ago, he didnt. So what?
Football is full of opinions. It seems Quinn has changed his opinion and just in time, we are playing better football than we have been doing and look far more professional and organised. he's getting it right, we're in the play-offs what more is required.
last season is different because the problems were apparent from the game against Bury in Auguest that our defense (Heathcoat or no Heathcoat) was pretty poor. Thus it wasnt much of a surprise as the season unfolded when the defense started to get even worse.
People speak as if we've been picking up negative results for months, this isnt the case. Wake up and see the sunshine, things are not rosy, but they are not exactly doom and gloom at the moment.

There is no lack of understanding, the results speak for themselves.

IHow long does a top-qaulified coach need to assemble a team that can demonstrate it understands what is required of it in more than one game in five? There is no lack of understanding, the results speak for themselves.

I must be the only person to have voted "yes" every time. 3 points out of 9 isn't play-off form. And neither is 16 points out of 24???

I didn't say 16 points out of 24 wasn't play-off form, I was merely querying whether it was or wasn't to Sean-Broseley who failed to see the bigger picture.
Even if performances suggest otherwise, results in the league have definitely picked up since the Halifax game.

So how many managers are we going to go through before we go up? Sure Quinny hasn't always got it right and there is a distinct lack of passion at times but we will finish third at least and then it's the play off final with Hereford. We've got to remember that Quinn had to rip the side apart from last season. The signings have been high profile and on the whole have done rather well. Chester & Hereford have been together as a unit a lot longer than we have. Pushing the panic button at this stage in the season would be a nonsense and I really cannot understand the poll being so close.

...still have NOT seen us fire on all cylinders going forward... our last successful side when we were under Fred... whenever Mickey or Ray Woods had the ball, you knew Wayne Clarke or Deano would do something... with Evo and Summerfield coming in behind...
we are good individually but still not playing as a team. ------------------------------------------------------------------
"we have had our season pre-season.. now lets play the Conference Lottery play-offs..."

All this nonsense of "Quinn Out" is complete rubbish and a total non starter so why bother starting the thread.
I think considering what he was left with, in the main he has done a fair job. To a certain extent he is still learning his job and he does get out-thought by older, more experienced managers occasionally.
Its the prospect of the play offs and we need to get our heads around that.
I agree with previous comments We have not really fired on all cylinders for any length of time. Anybody facing us (and our fantastic support) will not be looking forward to the prospect
