I'm a big Crambie fan but that was a poor decision tonight and Darbs certainly let Quinn know what he thought of it when he went off.................
Mangagement have to sort out a way of playing if they are going to play the big fella,he gets no service from the flanks........
w2ith Sammy out now for ages I wonder if we've seen the last of him now and perm any two from Cramb,Luke and Banim....................feel for Darby wasted playing in that system, whatever that system is................

Duane Darby should not have been taken off before cramb he had every right to be annoyed...! He's worked his socks off tonight and scored a good goal what more can the lad do...!

Maybe it's the TV angle etc, but I thought one or two of the real touches of class were supplied by Cramb tonight.

SNFC, i agree he supplied 1 or 2 touchs of class but his work rate is on par with any council worker, do not like the guy, would rather see hard working no nonsence players like darby and o'connor

Did not see this thread but to underline the point it was one of the worst managment desisions this season - you would have though cramb would have been boyed by the stay of execution but he got worse - then desided that he is such a big player he no longer needs to pass other players in to good opertunitys
Cant express how dissapointing Cramb was
The fans are starting too see it too - Darby will soon be the fans fav due to his work rate mark my words!!!

I didn't really notice Darby, but Cramb caught the eye with a couple of superb touches.
Cramb looked to have the vision to unlock a defence I thought.....

Cramb was poor tonight,IMO,but he is the only skilful CREATIVE midfielder/forward we've got and IS the leading goalscorer..............
People will never agree over players as people like and look for different things..........
Cramb has his detractors IMO because of his body language and and his toys out of the pram whinging..
I like em both him and Darby for differing reasons,I have no complaints with either of them..........
my complaint is with Management as THEY dont appear to me to know what they want to play in the middle up front.................
having said all that I'd always start with Cramb from this squad but would only play Darbs when I felt I could provide him with the service from the flanks that he needs and would again only IMO thrive on............

I was a bit surprised that Darby came off, but as I didn't think he was having a bad game. That said, I didn't think Cramb was the worst player on the pitch.
It was clear that Lowe was coming off tonight instead of Darby originally until somehow he pulled a wonder goal out of no where (Lowe really was abysmal tonight besides that goal). Jeevsy also said that the sub board originally said 17 before that goal.

Cramb/Darby didn't work - again.
From watching it, I thought Cramby let himself down with a final ball on a couple of occasions but still looks a class act and I look forward to seeing him partnering Luke in the next few games.
Darby is still not doing it for me. He had an excellent 45 minutes against Burton but since then has looked a similar player to the one of about a month back.

WelshShrew - I cant belive you think Cramb was better than Darby last night - you must be the only one.
What did Cramb do that made you think class act last night cos i could give you twise that that made me think waste of space last night (but not in recent games)
And Darby - that was one of his best games last night - if someone in the team coud cross he might be getting a few more goals - as it is he has to do it all him self cos he never sees a pass from cramb - whatch that game back mate - if cramb passed more than 10 times to Darby i would be serprised - where as Darbys was feeding cramb all night - if the partnership did not work i think that might be you reason

I agree with shrewforever (and SNF) on this one. Darby and Cramb are both good in their different ways. The real problem JQ has is in trying to keep all our excellent forwards happy.
But we should play Cramb, because he can give us those moments of superior skill that will unlock a stubborn and resolute defence.
Whilst Sam's out, I'd like to see Luke and Cramb up front, with Lowe in the Scholes role. Darby on the bench, I'm afraid, but what a stand-by weapon he is! It's a luxury every other Conference club would die for...

cramb is far to "european" for my liking, by this i mean he hardly wins anything in the air, clearly dislikes getting stuck in and tries to many fancy flicks when a simple pass would be fine. In the conference you need players like darby to challenge the big centre halfs and get into tackles. Granted i enjoy seeing the occasional flick or turn but it needs to be simple at this level. darby should never of been brought off yesterday ahead of cramb as he was working his socks off whereas cramb was just wandering around waiting for the ball.
I say play jody and duane up front for our next game, give cramby a kick up the ass!
First thing that crossed my mind yesterday was that maybe quinny brought duane off instead of cramb to keep him happy, like last season with ratcliffe and jemmo.

Substituting Darby last night made no sense. He is the only genuine forward we have that can hold the ball up, while under pressure & bring other players into play from midfield. He is also our only aerial threat up front as Cramb seems reluctant to take on that role. He is also aware of whats going on around him & unselfishly provides team mates the good opportunities to score with some quality lay offs in & around the box. I feel JQ needs to find someone within the squad that can give him some decent service.

Is it really necessary to have a big centre forward to challenge the big centre halfs? Last season, I seem to remember it was smaller, classier players who had the most success against Redmile and Artell. Just a simple give-and-go was enough to leave Matt a beached whale.
I'm glad we've got at least one player who doesn't charge all over the pitch like a headless chicken, who has the ability to turn defenders inside out, who can add the touch of class you so seldom see at this level. Cramb may not have had a great game last night, but he should've won a penalty with pure skill, and nearly forged another couple of goals.
This is not knocking Darby. I'm really glad we've got him. He brings priceless variation to the squad. But so does Cramb. In our Aiston-less state, it is likely we'll be trying to slice through the middle of defences, rather that use the wings.
I reckon Cramb is better suited to that.
