Don't get me wrong, I love Ryan Lowe.... But tonight he was 50:50 again
Defencively shocking.... just doesnt know when to hoof it clear rather then pass it short or dribble
Attacking very good, set up the goal, scored a goal and looked strong running forward
Heard on the commentary too many times though 'poor cross from Lowe'

RYAN LOWE CANNOT CROSS - I HATE IT WHEN HE PLAYS ON THE WING!!!!
Poor stikers the only quality in the box ever comes from moss lile 2 times a game!!!!!
I would try somthing differedt as Lowe dont work as a winnger but im at a loss as to solve the problems
- New contract - I bloody hope not!!!

Lowe showed where he belongs, he's an off the bench striker.

The bloke stood behind me moaned all second half to take him off and put Banim on. When Ryan scored I turned round to give him grief, his reply, well he had to do that Banims ready to come on. You know who you are ;D

Kevin Ratcliffe was right about one thing- he is the best finisher at the club- I would play him up front or just behind the front two- if he is too deep he plays us into trouble- I certainly wouldnt drop him

he should have won MOM - he had a hand in 3 of the 4 goals!

Sorry Ryan Lowe was poor tonight apart from his goal.
Can't think of a time he succesfully crossed the ball, out of position constantly and as for that woeful clearance that resulted in the Leigh goal! Not only that but towards the end of the second half when we were under pressure and the ball was deep in our half he did some stupid ball juggling rather than getting the ball away.
In fact I think he would have been subbed had he not scored that goal - heard Jeevsy say that the subs board originally had 17 on it, and was then changed to Darby after.

It was his excellent pass that set up Darbys goal as well don't forget. And he scored a great goal. Not saying he was great tonight, but not as bad as some are suggesting!

I saw on the highlights that Lowe did set up the goal (and Leigh's too)
But it really does annoy me that when Lowe doesn't track back or help out his full back or puts a poor cross in the reaction from the crowd is either nothing or 'unlucky ryan'. and yet if Street did the same thing its 'get your ar&e back you lazy git' or 'bloody street' and if he does something positive then they'll be no mention of it.

How bad was Lowe, and then he belts in a stunner to make us all eat our words??? Unbelieveable. Thought Street had a very good second half. Cramb got frustrated with the ref and then tried to play champagne football and take the p**s too much.

A guy watching the match with me said that if Thierry Henry had scored a goal similar to Ryan's then the media would have raved about it for weeks. Class finish and I expect him to keep his place for the next few weeks (at least)

without Lowe that game would have been 0-0 cos he made the first three goals and their keeper would not have gone up front at 0-0!

Ryan Lowe = great finisher, crap crosser, forever inconsistent, I think this could be the last few months we will see Ryan as a Town player.

Great assist for Darby's goal and a great goal he scored,
But absolutely utter tosh for the rest of the game.
What a frustrating player.

Bloody hell, I read through all of the posts and then you posted exactly what I was going to ant.
Superb play for Darby's goal, showed a real burst of pace and then a quality ball through.
Excellent finish after starting the break himself.
In every other respect he was absolutely clueless. I cannot understand how a bloke who can provide geniune pieces of skill at times can look like he's never played football before at others.

I phoned Welsh Shrew at half time, and said that Lowe should be subbed and Banim (probably) brought on. I texted him shortly after saying that I was pleased that Quinn hadn't agreed with me!! Although, as already posted, He was going to be subbed when he scored.

Its not often a slate a player on here, but lowe was bloody awful last night. Yes he set one up and scored, but I still think we would have been more effective playing Fitz or G Tolley in his role.
Lowe can't cross the ball. He just continuously hoofs it against the nearest opposition player until he wins a corner!!!
And forget all this "its not his natural position" rubbish, he's played there for 4 years now, and still regularly fails to make any impact in that position at all.
If he is to play put him up front or in the centre.
And give street a break. He played much better than lowe last night and got more stick.

Yep as I said last night, if he doesn't know how to play on the right wing by now there's got to be something wrong with him!
Lowe was poor last night and he was poor against Woking too.
Yes I'd like to see Glenn Tolley get a go there too

Have to say I thought that although his final ball wasnt very good, his off the ball running was brilliant and it was only the slowness of the Town attack that didnt play him in a number of times.
Ryan has proved his worth over anover again. How many strikers do you know of who have been shunted out wide yet still reached double figures in the scoring charts (he will this season to make it 3 seasons running). As a midfielder yes he is inconsistant, but he offers assists and goals, which are vital especially when your team is struggling to score goals (we've scored the least amount of goals in the top 6/7).
I agree with Old Git he could play a big role in the next few seasons if given the chance.
And as for terrible performance, well he was the only one who looked remotely capable of getting beyond the leigh back line, which is pretty indicative of Darby, Cramb and Streets attacking effectiveness last night.

Rob
I agree with every word of that
Last night we were too slow to play the ball forward, me and my mates said the same, Lowe made some fantastic runs forward yet we played the ball sideways
