Bingo....here it is in black and white "noisy group of hysterical terrorists"

Dear Chairman,
SPORTSMAN’S ASSOCIATION OF GREAT BRITAIN
On Saturday 19th October 1996 a meeting of approximately 500 unhappy
shooting sportsmen formed the above Association. It was in response
to the depth of feeling about the unfair proposed government
legislation over firearms. Everyone in the shooting community was and
still is appalled by the act of the Dunblane murderer, but shooters
are being punished for the crime. In particular, no consideration has
been given to the fact that we are a sport, which as all sportsmen
will realise, is an integral part of a person’s life. Their families
are frequently involved not only in participation but in support and
all the social aspects. The proposed new handgun legislation will not
abolish handguns but will abolish control of handguns.
Our feelings for the families of the Dunblane tragedy was extended by
our respectful silence even though we were being vilified by the likes
of David Mellor and the tabloid press. The actions and words of the
Labour and Conservative Parties have forced us to react.
As the elected Chairman I ask your organisation to give us your
support. We have no intentions of usurping your efforts and the work
you do on our behalf. As I summarised at the end of the meeting I
believe the shooting organisations have tried their best but the
politicians do not believe you have the grass roots support. Our aim
is to bring to the attention of the House of Commons the depth of
feeling of the grass roots and our objection to the proposed
legislation which is going to be passed without proper parliamentary
procedure. The grass roots shooter wants to feel they are doing
something themselves. This may be the last throw of the dice for them
but they will feel that they have done something positive for
themselves at the end.
For this to work and save the sport of shooting we must act in great
numbers now. We need to have 100,000 people signed up by the 26th.
Time is of the essence. Only through a massive early response can we
go forward and argue with the politicians. By November the 1st we
must have at least ONE MILLION members. Snowdrop recruited 750,000 in
four months. If we can recruit one million in two weeks and if those
people have paid £5 then our campaign will have far more weight than
the Snowdrop petition.
On behalf of the newly formed Council I ask you to support our efforts
by mailing my covering letter, constitution and membership forms to
your membership.
Yours in Sport
Albie Fox

THEY THOUGHT THERE WAS A GUN LOBBY
THERE IS NOW
Keeping a low profile, turning the other cheek has failed. On the
line is not only fullbore pistol and revolver ownership but ALL
shooting sports, and beyond them, many other sporting and leisure
pursuits. Indeed, anything no longer deemed politically correct by a
noisy hysterical group of social terrorists currently leading all the
political parties by their noses. We have NO friends or allies in
Parliament. If your shotgun, fieldsport, stalking, fishing or hunting
leaders tell you that your sport is safe, they are either naïve or
incredibly stupid. Just look at the written agendas and manifestos of
all the parties scrabbling for votes at the next election. You have,
or will all become nothing more than a political expedient.
THE SPORTSMAN’S ASSOCIATION OF GREAT BRITAIN was formed on the night
of Sat 19th of October in a packed pavilion at Bisley. Within three
hours over 400 people joined. The object is simple… to finally create
the unanimous sporting lobby of which we have heard so much in the
past seven months. Whilst the anti campaign relied largely upon
children signing something they may not have understood, we are
comprised of paid members and have far greater credibility in the eyes
of prospective members of parliament. For a paltry £5 you can join
and add your voice to the swelling body of extremely angry people. We
do not ask you to leave your other associations, just to join us as
well. More importantly, you must RECRUIT. YOU HAVE TWO WEEKS IN
WHICH TO HELP US ACHIEVE CRITICAL MASS. If it becomes necessary, our
constitution allows us TO FORM A POLITICAL PARTY, not with the hope of
winning seats, but as a single issue spoiling manoeuvre.
