Very good today, a goal would have topped a fine performance, the bloke's workrate is amazing

According to Radio Shropshire, Duane was really getting it together quite nicely today.

Fantastic display from Duane today, almost my Man of the Match.
His effort and endless battling was fantastic, hopefully this will be the start of something good for him.

Got to argue the point on this one.
Thought he looks well short of the player I expected.
Some nice touches but I expect a lot lot more.
Let's see him fit.

Steady on lads...he did ok but nothing special, nothing to write home about...
He looks a little out of sorts to me, doesn't look as though he's enjoying his football.
Best opportunites for him today when he had the ball at his feet and had the chance to run at the Morecambe defence...but each and every time he was caught and dispossessed, not too sure thats the best part of his game (would have been great to Rodgers in the very same situation). Think its understandable as he hasn't had too much first team football but there is still a vast amount of room for improvement from Mr Darby me thinks...
Looked well knacked before the end of the game as well...

Very harsh there stutty. he chased everything, pressed the Morecombe defense, battled for everything and got battered by Morecombe. he showed some nice touches, and his turn looked impressive (everytime he got haulted by a foul) won some in the air, buzzed about, looked quite effective with Quinn.
Got some decent crosses in actually picking out stfc players!!!! And I believe it was his cross that Sam headed in.
If he looks a bit out of sorts could it not be that he just isnt getting the chances that seem to be falling to Cramb, Banim, Sam and Edwards (after this display).

yeah, goals would be a start, but in the absense of goals, he was pretty damn good. he could sulk like some players might do if they werent getting the rub of the green, but he didnt and doesnt he sets about trying to sort it out.

The folks who are criticising Darby, did you ever see him play for Rushden?
He's not a flair player, he's an honest, no nonsense, old fashioned centre forward, what you see is what you get, he ain't going to get the ball outside the box, beat several defenders and score spectacular goals, he'll get the bread and butter goals given the right service
He's a target man who will bring others into play and get on the end of things in the box, you have to play to his strengths to get the best from him

I agree Prof, thats what I was trying to get over when I wrote 'not too sure thats the best part of his game'...
I'm not criticising the lad, thought he did OK...but I hope there is alot more to come from him, thats all...

FFS he set up a goal and easily put in 100% effort. If a few more first team players show the effor he does we will have no problems retaining a play-off place.

I thought Darby had a very good game, I think he can still do a good job for us, he is a proven lower league and Conference striker so he doesnt need to prove anything to us, as he always used to score against us, and I'm sure, if given a good run in the team, will start to do the buisness.

Darby put the cross in for the goal. Best moment was when of the ugly Morecambe defenders(there were enough of them) squared up to Darby, in response Derby said 2-0 to him before giving him the finger

I thought it was Edwards' cross as well. Oh well.
Doesn't change the fact that Darby did really well today. He's probably not used to having to play the Luke Rodgers role in terms of closing down defenders, but since Quinn and Cramb were never going to do it he had to, and I thought he filled in admirably. He never stopped running and I lost count of the number of times he won the ball back for us by panicking the Morcambe defense into dodgy clearances.
Definitly needs another goal to raise his confidence a bit, but an encouraging display today, nonetheless.

EWARDS RAN THROUGH FROM MIDFIELD POINTING TO WHERE HE WANTED THE BALL TO BE PLAYED(WIDE ON RIGHT) ON RECEIVING IT HE TOOK IT A FURTHER 10 YARDS OR SO AND THE CROSSED FOR AISTON TO HEAD HOME.

Dont know how you can comment Lee were you there? Oh well thats never stopped you ;D
Darby just can't be slagged on that performance. he not only attempted to do what Luke might do on the pitch (closing down, chasing about, getting in and amongst the Morecombe team etc..) but he also tried to bring his own style into it.
He worked well which is all you can ask when the team dont play to his strenghs. He should be the one on the end of the crosses, not having to put them in (reguardless of the goal, he put a number of good crosses in)

have i commented on the game or darby?? no, did i say i hadnt voted on this pole?? yes
my comment was that you cant accept that stutty has an opinion of his own and have to argue anything he said unlike ppp who said fair enough as its a personal opinion

Not at all, I merely offered some alternative explanations as to why Darby might have seemed to be ineffectual. Whilst he's not the best at dribbling at people, he is pretty damn nifty at crossing a ball and putting himself about.
I did not rubish someones else post.
