I think the rumours that should be stopped are the ones that cant be backed up with proof and a sources name.

The chap in question is a friend, he has told me personally what is happening, i'm certainly not the only person who knows about this, I wouldn't be surprised if some others on here do too
I'm certainly not going to post the name of the man on an internet message board when he's in sensitive discussions with the club
If it bothers you that much Paul i'll send you a private message and tell you who it is if you like, on the understanding that you keep it to yourself?

I agree Prof, as soon as you put "I've been told that......" everyone's first reaction is "who told you" but as you say your not going to say who it was otherwise you'd be dropping the person in it.
Over the years I've heard a lot of rumours, some direct from club staff (players, coaches etc), people knowing club staff and then others which are just pub talk. Normally I've passed these rumours on without revealing the sources unless specifically asked not to as its human nature to pass on some gossip.
