Think you will find that quite a number who post one here have been going far longer than 10 years reading some of the threads over the past few months. I've been going nearly 30 and I know of several who post regularly that have been going far longer than that. I'm sure you're right (I've been going 35 years now). However, my point, badly expressed, was that the age range on here is probably still fairly skewed (towards younger age groups) compared to our support in generally and if we want an event that represents our supporters (as a whole) then I presume we'll contacting fans in other ways. That's still not very clear is it. Anyway I think we're in agreement a press release is planned for Tuesday. we want ALL fans to express an opinion, it isnt an either/or thing. It also depends upon availability, some of the older legends will have been at the match and will be tired so it will limit the time they have. can we not turn this into an older versus younger issue please?

He may only have been with Town a short time, but Garyy Shaw scored the fastest league hatrick at the time for them. A pretty well known player nationally too.
Others Pearson and Linnegan as a pair, Oggy, Kazule, Sir Mickey, Howie, Quinn - controversial but did the job he was supposed to. McNally to throw into the hat and second.

frank griffin.... scored the first goal at the meadow and still lives in Belle View Not sure if thats true matt, i'm sure Frank died sometime ago. And if he scored the first goal at the Meadow that would make him about 120 years old....unless the Town played for the first 30/40 seasons without getting a goal

I read Mattsnappers post and missed the mistake
what he means to say is that he scored the first LEAGUE goal - in 1950
and of course he later scored for West Brom in the FA cup final

I think Matt means in the league! Frank was our next door neighbour. He suffers with his memory, and couldn't tell you what he had for breakfast, but would relive his football years, playing alongside Bobby Robson for the Albion, scoring Albion's winning Cup final goal etc. etc. as if they were yesterday. Very sad. As a side story, I was lucky enough to see Frank's winning F.A. Cup final medal notworthy

One of my joint favourite Town players. I have already been lucky enough to talk with my other, Bob Wardle, at length when the Chronicle, and in particular Stu Dunn organised the Lord Hill get together of the 78/9 3rd Division Championship side. notworthy notworthy notworthy notworthy

These players should not be going to the lord hill they should be paraded one by one on the pitch itslef in front of all the fans, this would be a great send off for the meadow, hope ut happens

at the last game at vetch field loads of their old players/staff/managers etc did like a lap of honour walking round the pitch with their name being anounced as they walked onto the pitch. it would be great if we could do that and then if available they could attend the do after! This is what i was thinking

I am sure the club has plans for something like that for the grimsby game. another thing to think about is that every legend is going to need a seat. this means one less seat per legend for the fans.

I agree with all the above + all our promotion from conference team. Plus I have a friend who begs for Nigel Jemson to be invited.
Most of my favourites come from the 1993 promotion team.
