Don't see how you cannot vote yes to this question the way it is worded. If it does indeed aid preparation for a midweek game, and who are we to argue with the manager, then it has to be a yes.
That said, on the other poll I have voted that I prefer Sat 3pm kick-offs as that is personal preference.
I also believe that it will hack many fans off, especially those who forked out at the start of the season for a seson ticket, if they can only make Saturday games.
There are probably many others who perhaps can make it, but at great inconvenience following a working day.

It's a personal thing- so maybe it's a case of whatever is right for STFC, but I would find it EXTREMELY difficult to make it to Friday night games.

Surely whats best for the team is what we have to do? Or is it ourselves that we are concerned about???

Three o'clock starts are the best for using public transport from this part of the world. Whichis a consideration come next season.

I agree with moving the kick off times from Staurday to Friday night because it gives the manager saturady, sunday and monday to get the players fit in time for the Next Match.

I reckon the average attenance on a Friday night is around 500 less than Sat pm, so that costs the club around maybe £7-8,000 per match (back of fag packet calculations) so its not just a case of what fans prefer or 19 hours more time for players to rest before next game - it also has a financial implication.
For the record, I prefer Sat games, not least because Friday night traffic is horrendous.

Not entirely sure that's correct. Both Friday games this year have provided larger crowds than would have been the case had they been held on the Saturday. 4,800 for Macc, 3,600 for Barnet, the latter coming in December when crowds are traditionally low (2,400 for a game last year and 3,200 for a Sat game last year).

Bristol Rovers and Peterborough are both fairly well supported clubs, how many would they bring on a Saturday in comparison to how many they should bring on a Friday evening? All this 'the atmosphere will be better with fewer away fans' is b******s (on the other thread), for me the atmosphere is better when there is a large, boisterious away following, Stockport brought a good noisy contingent with them, add that to the high positive tempo of the game and the atmosphere was electric....

The very idea of playing all our home games is frankly idiotic! 1. How will 'exiled' supporters make it to games? (Take 23 half day Fridays? ?) 2. Will we actucally gain anything by it! 3.Do you really think we'll do a trainning session on a Saturday morning? 4. Fewer away fans 5. half the reason football is so appealing is the draw of a day/afternoon out with your friends. Not just getting out of work, going pretty much straight to the game and then sodding back off home (lets face it is gone 9:30 by the time you get out of the ground and thats a bit late for a proper nyt out IMO) 6. I DON'T LIKE FRIDAY NIGHT GAMES! Ohhhh well at least Gary will get to watch a game on Sat (unless they all switch ). T

Thats why I asked the two question's Mr Wynne. I need to see if ok people are against Friday ko's, but accept it as part of our progression as a club.
Havent you gone to Austria yet ;D

they have been alright preparing for tuesday games, following a saturday game in the past, i see the arguements for but whats the difference now?? every other team in the league does it, and they are professional footballers, and therefore should be used to it. I know I'm rarely back in shrews at the moment, but if more friday games are introduced then it will be even less games I get to watch! Also on a personal note, I get confused with the whole friday night games, saturday feels like a sunday and will ulitmatly lead to me having to go shopping to fill the time and therefore spend more money! :-(
also from speaking to the bristol rovers fans yesterday, a lot had plans to come up and stay over for the weekend, but now due to the game being a friday they cannot get the time off work etc and so will not be here. Very poor decision to change this game, bristol is a short journey for fans to make and I would expect a fairly decent turnout from rovers on a saturday afternoon, especially as crowds at the memorial are currently increasing, potentially a lot of money could be lost on this fixture change.
so basically after that rant..... I don't like change and want my football team to play on saturdays!! :-)
