What was wrong ,did the defense not get it forward quick enough? Midfield lack of creativity? Attack could'nt finish or create? somebody put the record straight.

Man of the match- Darren Moss or Dave Edwards Worst- Either Quinn, Cramb or Street

Have to say thought street had a shocker and midfield lacked any creativity. couple of good runs from sammy but with only 3 in the middle we got outnumbered. more formation than players fault. tough call though as quinn, darby and cramb all had shockers but expected that

Darby didn't have a shocker at all, the amount of unwarranted abuse he gets is shocking

What about "All of them?", there was no fluency,: the defenders were average, the midfield was negative, The strikers were trying too hard. To say that only Tinson and Edwards had decent chances is a measure of the lack of effort/creativity shown from the Shrewsbury attacking midfielders and Strikers. The throw inns/corners/free-kicks/passing/finishing should all be improved for a club like us. Once agin Stuart Dunne has gone walkies to the wrong ground. Edwards and Moss playing the best ?? Thats true, they did well the 5 times they each touched the ball! ;D

The defence had nothing to do. The midfield where better once O'Connor came on. The attack was poor.

Ok fair point. ust frustrated. You can tell the guy has got good skill he is just not helped by playing alongside quinn, needs someone feeding off him.
His effort at closing down over last couple of games has been good but feel he would benefit from two wingers putting decent crosses in

I don't think Darby deserves any stick
he had no service whatsoever and worked very hard

Probably the biggest let down for me this season (apart from Quinn playing) is Kevin Street. I was absolutely delighted when I heard that we'd signed him but he has done little to impress me at all.
He just seems reluctant to try anything in an attacking frame of mind and gives the ball away almost every time he touches it. Plus, whenever he's put out on the wing he just gets drawn back into the middle and offers us no width at all.
Having said that, today he was probably no worse than mmost of the others. Edwards looked bright in the first half but seemed to become more and more anonymous in the second, Quinn playing is an absolute embarassment - every time he tries to run he just falls on his arse, Sammy also started the game well but once he that knock you could clearly see he was struggling.
A really, really poor effort from the Town today. The more I see this season the less I am convinced that we are any better than we were last year. I still think Quinn should be given more time to try and build a team but we really are so dire that I wonder if we did scrape up through the play-offs would we just come straight back down again next year?

This time last season we would have conceded a goal and lost. We are way better than last year, and todays team is similar to the side that beat hereford.

we may have lost, but not to accrington
the this year / last year thing is impossible to tell
we are certainly playing poorly this year though

Accrington were better than some of the sides that came to GM last season, but on a brighter note were playing sugar but still in the playoffs ..................for now.

For me the system was the problem. Sam is more effective wide left, not tucked in narrow. All we did was send it through the middle and that is their strength. It was all to tight. I was screaming for o'Connot to be brought on for Quinn after 15 minutes to get to a 4 4 2 cos i could see it was never going to work. As for worst player, thought Street was poor, Banim put some some energy in the game but was not that effective. Also though Howie could have been more commanding on a couple of occasions.

Banim had our best chance last minute of the game, next to Tinno's header.

not sure why people are defending Darby - he did nothing today as usual and I'm yet to see him play well - except maybe against Hereford as everyone played well.
he showed a little bit of spark last sat but today he's lazy again. that goes for Cramb too. does he expect to sit there and nick a goal every game? sometimes he's got to WORK for it!!
pathetic performance, amongst the worst really.
rant over.

FOR F**KSAKE GET OFF DARBYS BACK....! What is it with you numpty's out there who persist in slagging DD off. Please consider the following: 1) We play a crap system that does not suit him? 2) His he fully match fit? 3) If he was the Donkey some of you insist he his, how come he has a proven track record at this level? BLAME QUINN THATS WHO NEEDS TO GET HIS ACT TOGETHER...... SORT IT OUT......!!!!!

1) we played crap 2)Yes 3)He has a proven record in league f/ball, not this level(conf)
>>BLAME QUINN THATS WHO NEEDS TO GET HIS ACT TOGETHER...... SORT IT OUT......!!!!!<<
When sammy ran with the ball and it bobbled away because of the pitch thats not JQ fault.
When Tinno's header was saved supurbly thats not JQ fault.
When Banim lobbed the GK in the last breath of the game and put it just wide of the post thats not JQ fault.

Ha ha ha TelfordShrew your defence of Quinn is a joke. He is a joke and his track record is a joke. The squad he has to work with is the best in the conference and HE IS NOT performing. My Grandmother could do a job with this squad ;D Why oh why keep defending the poor excuse for a manager that Quinn has so far proved to be. Darby was an excellent signing for us and scored goals, alot of goals in the conference with Rushden, check it out. Quinn is the joke taking us up....... my arse

SSSSShrew I think you are the joke here, I'm not defending Quinn but to say everything badc about today was down to him is a bit harsh!
And is anyone else annoyed at how we always seem to get more 'guests' coming on here to moan after defeats, but if we win never seem to show their face?

And while I'm on the warpath I'm sure I'm not the only one who is annoyed when people say stuff like 'my nan could do better' or 'my disabled gerbil could have buried that chance', its blatantly not true so why say it and make yourself look completely stupid?! Rant over

Quinn is the reason we are in the position we are, playing the way we are. If my opinion ain't acceptable to you then i suggest you watch the last four months videos of our games. Quinn is a joke, wake up and smell the coffee young man. With him in charge we are going nowhere. One day i'll tell you who i am Peter, i think you will be suprised, if not shocked

Why not identify yourself now then? ;D
We're 5th in the League, I know alot of people myself included had high expectations for 'The Mighty Shrewsbury Town' we've drawn against a team only a few places below us and yet you are calling for the end of Quinn. So we may be playing badly (cant comment on todays performance as I was working)
If many Salop fans spent half as much time getting behind the team and manger as they do criticising maybe the lads would hold their heads higher on the field and care more about the team performance

Get behind the team, the club and the players, oh yes Jules never doubt it. But the current management, no way. Taking us nowhere in my opinion

Well unfortunately i've not had the oportunity to witness enough games for myself this season
Most of what I have to go on comes from comments on here but i'm becoming immune to the negativity, maybe optimistically (blindly) believing it cant be 'that' bad after all we are getting points and in a league position that I cant complain at.
Personal view that Quinn needs to be concentrating on the team management, fair play he stepped in and scored a few goals, but he cant expect to compete at this level now, he has been distracted by his own involvement in the team for which the team is now suffering. For him to be manager 100% i'd still give him the benefit of the doubt, for the entire first season

I thought the game was there for the taking late in the second half - if the management had had the nowse to bring Glenn Tolley on so that we could attack from both flanks.

To much play down the middle for me , we needed to get the ball out wide and get behind them , especially in the first half , if JQ is to play himself then thats our strongest option, when the ball was played to his feet he struggled to stand up and lay the ball off and move.

Quinn takes the blame for yesterday by starting himself.
We may have won vs Morecambe despite his non-performance last week but it wasn't going to work yesterday.
Time to hang up the boots Jimmy and concentrate on managing.
What effect of playing yourself infront of a £25,000 signing does it have on the signing?
Madness.
