at the begining of the season i beleive that we were advised that the new players contracts were going to be based on Performance related pay therefore here are some quetions? Do you think it is working. Do you think that this has helped attract the right type of player (i.e not old meal ticket players) Do you think you could do better Do you think money money motivates our players (and how do you know this!)

I'm a big favourite of performance/ result related pay in many jobs.
However a win does not constitute a good performance - there is enough quality in the squad/ side that Town have not had to perform at their best and still come away with a victory (There are numerous examples of this so far this season.)

I remember this debate.
At the time I said that money does not work as a motivating factor particularly well, but that clear leadership does.
Hmmm................

It depends what percentage of their salary is PR, not much I expect or else most of them would not have signed. I guess most of us would say we would love to play for STFC for next to nothing but when it is your only career with the prospect of it not lasting very long, then I guess players are out for anything they can get. But whether money would act as a motivator game to game then I very much doubt it- it's probably just a nice bonus after you have won through being motivated by 3 points, league position, personal ambition, etc.

Does it motivate players to declare themselves fit when they shouldn't

Think you know my view S&R..........I'm bloody sure it does..................
Not that it should be of any importance as it should'nt be up to the players to decide if they are fit or not IMO..............

My big fear is that if you rely on PRP for footballers then Fantasy football criteria (which is S***e) will prevail !
ASSISTS ! This means if it touches a players Arse en route he gets credit !
If you picked the 11 highest rated English fantasy footballers to play for England we'd get slaughtered !
The best team in 2001/2002 according to the Telegraph included 10 left footed players ! Imagine watching that team, and all the throw ins they'd give away!
I can't be alone on this can I ? FF did what it set out to do and made money for the inventors, but people do take it far tooo seriously !!!
