they were probably delighted at securing their own survival for another season. Collins was very dignified in the way he handled himself after the game and commented that he didnt want to celebrate at a time when another club had lost its league status.

I wasn't bothered by their celebrations at the Meadow. After all, they had just escaped relegation. The fans couldn't be expected to stand there stoney faced because we had just been relegated. Any other set of fans would have done exactly the same thing.

Does anyone else remember Carlisle fans singing "Shrewsbury Town, are going down" ( to the tune of Tom Hark) ?

when they sent us down the pictures on sky showed collins taking the player off after they applauded there traveling fans. in his interview he told sky sport news that this was no time to celebrate in front of a team that had just gone down.i thought his actions were excelant,as for there fans we would sing the same songs if we were in the same position i can think of worse teams to hate in our league (chester for one) ldv farce is the only prob i have

The LDV was a farce, totally unnaceptable (as was the sarcastic reply I got emailed from their office).
However if it's a choice between Carlisle & Stevenage it would have to be the Cumbrians. Stevenage was a dire day out last year (not just because we were crap)

They're a s**t load of fans. They think they're the best team in the world because they've avoided relegation a few times. They ended up on our pitch the year we went down. No-one likes them. They're all a bunch of tossers who should be banned from ever playing league football.

i spent a fortune stayin up there b4 the ldv match and, despite being told it would be on numerous times, they still cancelled it at short notice as i was stood outside the ground. there weren't so many of us there for the rearranged match, not surprisingly.

There were certainly customer care issues over the ldv game. Although it may be said that it was a one-off game and so we should get over it. I did have a pleasant time travelling up there with the kids.
I'll look forward to Carlisle coming to the Gay Meadow next season.

Does anyone else remember Carlisle fans singing "Shrewsbury Town, are going down" ( to the tune of Tom Hark) ? More likely to have been Telford or Hereford fans in the Carlisle end, why would Carlisle fans take delight in sending us down?

I too travelled up for that Ldv game And after they had relegated, we had a bunch of carliar fans giving us grief in the carpark, about how we are s**te, they'd never see us again, we were insignificant etc... But despite that there is a brilliant chippy owned by a Banglideshi Scot in the town centre. Their supporters have rallied round the club, forced out Knighton and got a share in their club. they also continued to turn out in the conference and helped with the flooding. And some of the numbers they take for away games down the other end of the country are simply mindblowing (bow your head in shame premier$hite fans). And its either them or the one man t**t at Stevengae, the man who conned the Farnbrough supporters out of a home game against Arsenal, pocket all th cash, released half the side and went to stevenage, taking large chuncks of the squad with him leaving stevenage in a perilous situation. And didnt he also strike some deal with the conference that would have prevented stevenage getting relegated in his first season, when they nearly did. So on that note Carliar win any day of the week.

Let's see
LDV farce - enough already said.
Huge proportion of low life fans. Too many times I've been there and either seen their fans hitting anyone from Salop just because they were wearing blue and amber.
Finally, one other reason not yet mentioned by anyone and it is very persoanl with me. The idiot prick who runs their supporters team and thinks it is perfectly ok to arrange games at our place and not bother turning up and letting us know. Didn't just do it once, the knob did it twice.
We thought about repaying them at their place, but instead decided to go up their and thrash the pants off them, which is what we did.
so, to sum up in a word SCUM

We do have a few idiot fans (doesn't everyone) the postponed game was a farce - I travelled to the game with Shrews fans, and we were all p**sed off. I do think you are being harsh about thte game at the meadow as the majority of fans didnt sing about shrewz going out of the league, in fact when Jemmo scored his goal remember the riverside singing 'Goin down ' to us. I went to the Britannia last year to support Shrewsbury and was pleased to see you go up. My mate is a big Shrews fan and has never had trouble at Brunton Park. Shame all this stuff on here as I always thought the clubs had alot in common - our rise and fall from the 80's onwards has mirrored yours. Oh well I guess we must all be scum. Good luck for next season - worth taking a look at Craig Farrell who we have just released - proven goalscorer and in my view a better player than Kelvin. Cheers

I think the real play off final is the day after when Alty take on the might of Eastbourne Borough.
Eastbourne have done well considering they were in the Sussex County League only 5 years ago. They are a well run club who deserve to be where they are.
Also their captain Stuart Tuck played for Brighton when they sent the Bullocks down to the conference.
C'mon the sports!!!!!!!

It's the only ground I have been to and had my head cut open by an overzealous policeman.
All 23 of us, in fancy dress, at an evening kickoff, must have been a real threat having our picture taken by the front wall. (and yes....it is a heck of a lot further from Reading arriving home at gone 5am!)

I personally dislike Carlisle because, while in the 15 - 17 centuries we were protecting OUR boarder and giving the Welsh what for, you let the side down and let a bunch of blokes wearing skirts run amok in our country Shameful

I've stood in the paddock in front of the main stand at Carlisle and cheered on the Town without trouble on more than one occasion. They've got quite a decent sized 'traditional' stadium with standing on three sides (assuming the waterworks end has finally been reopened). I don't mind them that much.

Let them stew in the conference for a few more season's I say. I too won't forget the cr*p we got from them on going down two years ago so let them have a taste of nonsense conference football for a while longer so they may get a bit more of what they were threatening to get years ago if wasn't for season after season of last gasp lucky survivals.
C'mon Stevenage.
