Has anybody been watching the darts on Sky today? Sid Waddell is absolutely hilarious, never heard so much gibberish in my life.
At one point today, after some fat bloke had pulled two sets back from another fat bloke Sid remarked, "He's coming back well but I can't see another Great Escape here. He's on his motorbike, he's over the fence, but he just can't get passed the little men in the tin hats!"
Priceless.

Who can forget his classic from the 80's??:
"There's only one word for that; magic darts"
Fantastic, no wonder kids go mad, he was a bloody teacher I've heard. (History)

He wrote the Jossy's Giant books too. I've got both and loved the show when I was younger. Need to be in your mid 20s now to remember it though probably, as I don't think it was ever repeated...

True Legend,
My favorite ever was " Marco Polo conquered the world when he was 30, Bristows only 23!" ;D

Sid is quality no doubt. His commentary makes a bad game watchable...

fat blokes...bad game ? Phil Taylor, Bob Anderson or Kevin Painter are not fat (Mardle is a bit podgy) and you try doing what they can do.
Darts is a great game, and they are some of the best in the world.

My fave darts commentary of has got to be... 'If Shakespeare was alive today, he'd surely be writing about these lads!' Genius...

Scooter- Phil Taylor is not fat? Don't get me wrong, he's a legend and he's awesome to watch, but there's a whole lot of belly under that shirt!! He's put the 4 stone back on that he lost last year.

Two classics from last year......
"It's tighter than a ballerina's bodystocking"
"And Taylor's trying to stick a bit of sellotape over the black hole in the stratosphere of darts"

My favourite is still the classic during the Matchplay in Blackpool...
"Theres a deathly hush in the hall, the crowd are so engrossed, if Elvis walked in now eating a bag of chips you could hear the vinegar sizzle"
Magic Darts
