It does look like a stop gap to give him options until the end of the season, which is fine. That's probably what is needed. He can't start building his squad properly for next season until he knows which players will be signing new contracts and which will be going. True, there's little point signing a player up long term at this stage of the season. It would be a waste of wages over the summer months when we are not in action.

Sheron will be a good signing for you. He didn't get a decent look in with us because of Parkin and Tippy's excellant form. Never let us down when he played though, was quite blatantly the cleverest player on the pitch when he played and is no doubt still capable of playing at this level. Will make plenty of chances for you but just not the goalscorer he used to be.
All the best,
SILKMEN GOIN UP!!

There are distinct similarities to the signing of a certain Nigel Jemson.
A player past his best, not the greatest recent goalscoring record, a one time Premiership player, not had a decent run for a few years, a good footballing brain...
...welcome back Luke Rodgers, circa 2002/2003??

Welcome back Luke Rodgers indeed (when youve served another suspension) ;D

jemmo, wayne clarke et all
never had a problem with strikers in their 30s
some on here would still complain if we signed Batistita

Remember him quite well, could well be the sort of player that would impress,if he has some sort of fitness.Might be one hell of a signing if true

well since he left Stoke
QPR - 56 games started (8 as a sub) 14 goals
Barnsley- 129 games started (43 as sub) 40 goals
Blackpool- 39 games started (12 as a sub) 11 goals
Macclesfield- 19 games started (14 as a sub) 4 goals
As you can see Matt his goal scoring record hasnt exactly been what some would describe as "hot" over the last 7/8 years.
Add into the mixer the Macclesfield fans believed him to be one of their bigger earners (and yes they do pay some big wages now) and I think I have every right to question whether he will be a cost effective signing or not.

Seems a decent short term signing to me.

It all went to Eartha Kitt when he left Stoke.
Perhaps we should sign Mark Stein as well. I heard a description of him today based on his time at Barnsley that made him sound like a Jemson clone. Here's hoping. If he can hit 1 in 3 and also get Luke going it could be an entertaining end to the season.

Clever signing from GP again, I believe he can see the possible synergies between Rodgers and Sheron, as well as another striking option, on contract until the end of the season, sound dealing to me!!!

Where will he fit in when Rodgers is available?
GP likes a big striker and Sheron is 5'10", so I can only see him as an alternative to Luke - or a possible replacement if Luke leaves?
It also indicates that GP does not see Grant and Lowe as first team strikers.

Think if we get a few more points soon you wont see much of Langmead for the rest of the season.Hes only a kid and has worked his nuts off IMO since we got him,can see GP wanting to give the lad a break.

GP says on Shrewsweb that he is not ruling out the possibility of him playing for us next season as well.
