Reading a little leaflet with daily "thoughts" I get from UCB. I always read on ahead of the "thought for the day"- because I'm impatient!!!!!! A few days further on, it said, "What would you do for nothing?"- Because, of course, that's your true calling. Mr Wiggy said, "Mend cars!" I know that, because, when we were younger- I'd make dinner- then call him to say it was ready- and , if he was mending a car, I'd have no chance- it would be well cold and spoilt before he'd come in!!!!! Mine is- Writing- I wrote as soon as I could- even when I was very small and couldn't do it well at all. I made little comic books for my friend's little brother. It was nearly all funny stuff- in those days, I probably had the right idea- see the funny side of everything- even going to the dentist's. I admit I'm NOT a brilliant writer- I'm not super brainy and plenty of people have a better turn of phrase. Also I'm emotional and impulsive and what comes out, sometimes, is my mood at the time!!! ![;)](http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/winking/winking0070.gif) BUT- people tell me I communicate well. So- yes! I'd do it for nothing- and DO do it for nothing. The main thing is- to do nothing but good with it. I do try- but, being human, I get it wrong at times! I'd do things for STFC for nothing! My Family,My friends (but that's what EVERYBODY does!) My church. I do more than I have to for my part-time teaching job. But it's not for nothing, because what I get back from all these things is far, far more valuable than money AND far, far more than I give. So- what would you, do you, do for nothing? Apparently that's your true calling.

I work in employment law, anti-discrimination stuff, workers rights and other such things. As I'm free-lance, I manage my own time, so, as your name gets known, more and more friends, aquaintances, colleagues of friends etc etc, are always asking for a "bit of advice" "pick your brains" etc. Inevitably, I get drawn in and end up fully committed to whatever it is that they're worried about. I don't mind, as it is usually a real worry for those concerned, and fee's for such things can be very expensive. However, my latest, 3 monthly, books show that about 20% of my time was spent working for free.

I think money is the root of all evil, so I'm willingly offering to take other people's evil off their hands for them and dispose of it for free! Just pm to find out where to send your money! (By the way, this is a religious thing - I've become a Yen Buddhist ![;)](http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/winking/winking0070.gif) )

1.Teach, as it's the best job in the world (but only part time as there are better unpaid occupations...). 2.Swim (The amount it's costing me, doing it for free would represent a considerable advance!). 3.Play drums (I already teach a community samba band in Glos for free anyway.) 4. Tell people why my iBook is better than any cr@ppy Del, Compaq or Toshiba bit of junk! (Hang on, I already do that too...) 5. Eat Maltesers - though I had to spend a lot of time helping a PGCE student with his planning to get the bag I'm currently munching. 6. Tell stories. I love stories. ;D 7. Run guided tours of Auschwitz for Cynical Arse and his pals.
