Hi guys, just read a few of your posts and you all seem a very friendly bunch. By the way my name is Chris Peer, the younger brother of Dean Peer who used to play for Shrewsbury Town for a while in the late 90's.
As you could call my bro a bit of a fans favourite during his time at the Gay Meadow, I was wondering if you lot would give me some backing to organise a testimonial for him at the Gay Meadow.
I know it's a few years since he played at Gay Meadow but he would really appreciate seeing all the fans who loved him so much and make a bit of money in the process.
Give me your thoughts - good or bad idea?

Give me your thoughts - good or bad idea? Hi Chris, if you really are his brother I apologise for sounding off, but Dean was not a crowd favourite here. I thought testmonials where for players with 10 yeras service at a club?

As you could call my bro a bit of a fans favourite during his time at the Gay Meadow, I'm the same agent who discovered Peter Kay and Ricky Gervais - you look like surpasing both of them

Hi JP
I'm rather confused, I know a player normally has to serve for around 10 years at a club. But, given his popularity and the fact that he used to give 110% every game, surely this accounts for something???
You confidently say that Deano was not a fans favourite, but when he always came round for dinner on Sunday's - he was forever telling us how the fans were so fond of him. In fact sometimes he used to moan to us how it often did his head in, as the fans were always wanting his autograph.
So are you so sure now?

Oh well, looks like you're not going to believe me then. I can always approach the club themselves I suppose, I hear there's a chap by the name of Ian Whitfield who deals with this kind of thing - do you think he could help?
I know you think this is a wind up and perhaps I was foolish to approach you in this way. But could you be serious for one moment and tell the truth about Dean - plus if any of you are still in contact with him, please don't tell him as I want it to be a surprise.
I can't wait to see his face when he sees you all cheering him on once more from the Riverside.
Regards
Chris. P

If it is true then he may well have the wrong club.
In his time with us he became a fan favourite as he scored a late winner at home to Fulham that got us a place in the playoffs. He was also in our team that won the playoffs in 97 then made the finals in 98 but lost.
I am shocked he didnt fit in well with you, past his best maybe

Hi it's me again, I'm beginning to lose my patience with you lot! I'v constsantly been trying to get hold of Ian Whitfield all week but he doesn't return my calls. Looking at some of your sarcastic replies, (apart from the northampton fan who spoke volumes about Dean's real qualities) I have to say i'm a bit disappointed in you. Now let's get our heads together and sort this out for Deano - perhaps Northampton could even be the opposition if you would prefer?
keep the faith, Chris Peer

AY i see your knocking big John Gayle, another town player. did a great job for us, battering defenders so Carl Heggs and Chrissy Freestone could spank home the goals Dean Peer did very well IMO at Northampton, got two Wembo appearances and showed some silky skills at our club legends testomonial last may SAMMO SAMMO SAMMO
