......at the GM, what do you think ?
For those that didn't goto Yeovil they had numerous ball boys around the pitch perimeter, the stands are right next to the pitch , but as soon as a ball went out of play the ball was straight back in action which suited Yeovils game ie playing high tempo. We seemed to have the same attitude since GP arrived moving the ball quickly, extremely noticeable in the Darlo/B Rovers game. How long does it take for a ball to thrown on from the dugouts when one goes into the river, out the ground over the station end/wakeman wall etc think it would be a bad/good idea ?

There should be someone on the Riverside touchline with 4/5 balls, esp for those that go over into the river.
Did I mention this to you yesterday, or did I say it to someone else ?

STFC used to have ballboys back in the mid-90's as I was one on a couple of occasions ;D
I think a lot of clubs started to remove them due a problem with insurance or something silly like that, can anyone confirm that?

if you've noticed the last few games there have been lads in the corner.
gm is a very tight ground so hard to put anyone up along the sides..

Not really needed at the sidelines but behind the goals yes. How many times have you seen the opposition keeper ambling to get the ball for a goal kick or Howie racing away for the ball. Obviously the ball boys should only be active in the above situations if they are to our advantage

any ball boys down the side of the ground would get cut in half by a Mossy or Aiston challenge

Phil's right about the insurance thing but that was almost 10 years back?
Still remember Neville Southall's immortal words to me as I raced to throw him the ball back as Wales were drawing at home with Georgia........."FOR F**KS SAKE, SLOW DOWN - THAT'S BETTER"

Still remember Neville Southall's immortal words to me as I raced to throw him the ball back as Wales were drawing at home with Georgia........."FOR F**KS SAKE, SLOW DOWN - THAT'S BETTER" I was at a Swansea v Town welsh cup game in the 1980's and the when the ball went out, a ball boy threw it straight to Leighton James, who gave him a real mouthfull, but I can't remember exactly what he said now. Plenty of swearing I'm sure Must be a welsh thing

Doubt it work as the ballboys would get in the way of the subs warming along the wakeman stand

Doubt it work as the ballboys would get in the way of the subs warming along the wakeman stand We are talking about the Riverside and behind the goals, because at present a new ball has to come from the tunnel when a clearance goes out of the ground.
