I haven't seen town since the upsurge in form - hopefully will see them at Darlington. On paper, it looks as if Peters has turned the team around from almost certain conference return. Are the lads putting in obvious increased effort since the Quinn period? The table is still relatively open. Anyone think we could make a play-off place (I would say the auto places are already booked)? Edwards is a surprise - is his "on pitch" form as positive as his recent score-sheet? Here's to staying in the league I'd like a nice short journey to Scunny as usual, so hopefully a win in the play-offs is also not off the cards I think any hope of a shorter trip to the KC stadium has to wait a couple of seasons!

You would notice a definite difference under GP Tony: more effort, more organisation, yes, more direct but not in a long ball hit and hope kind of way, every player doing their bit to help the defence by denying the opposition space including the front men. GP's approach is a breath of fresh air and is starting to push us up the league- the discipline is still an issue and has to be sorted out so its not all good news. I would be very happy if we finished the season in our current position because a few weeks ago I thought we were certainties to go down- now there is real hope. Yes teams who put together a run at this time of year can suddenly appear in the play-off zone but our strikers would need to start scoring for that to happen- the midfield cant be expected to score the winning goals like they have been recently.
Dave Edwards just shows us what happens if you tell a young player he is very good and work with him, rather than ignore him

Currently we're just about on target to get those 50 points, I think. So I would like to see an improvement on that, so that we have those 50 points without needing anything from the last two away games.
If we're still putting in performances like we have in the last 3 games for the remainder of this month then the necessary improvement is more likely to come.
Losing to Yeovil didn't hurt us at all, not even in terms of relative goal difference.

On the subject of goal difference, I remain amazed at Kiddie's (-32)!
Still not quite on course to break Doncaster's -83 in 1998 though......

I think we all have seen the upserge in form fight heart and commitment of most of the players – Edwards and Tolley looking like the most improved under GP so far but Grants not far behind.
Thing that might and only might put us on to that next level of going on a very very good run is if the forwards find the consistent goal scoring form we have lacked all season.
For me Grant langers and luke as a three (rotated) will get some goals but never enough for the playoffs.
Next week at Rushden is a telling game – its not even must win now which is testament to GP – a win would put us well on track to 50 points but a loss would still keep us above the relegation zone by 4 points and a home game (where were looking like taking lots of points for the rest of the season) to come
I have been impressed by the football we now play – yes football – not hoof ball, the pace of attacks and breaks from the back with Tolley powering forward is great to see, and with Astion back out on the wing we have that air of unpredicatbleness that teams hate to play against. Edwards has finally brought proper balance to the side and for once I cant moan about a player out of position on the right wind cos I think the lad might be better there than centre mid. The back line whether it be one of the 4 centre back have looked solid – even at Yeovil you could count 3 of the 4 as unlucky with deflections and looping bounces that the back 4 could not help. I don’t think we will let 4 in again this season.
Its looking good – and I think that GP has the formula to save a club and is putting it into practice (ie banks of 4 and 4 moving as a unit, closing down, snapping in hard in the tackle, putting a foot through it when needs be, a looking for a killer pass further up the pitch than under quinn)

I think that the most important Gary Peters has brought into the team is fighting spirit. Maybe too much some times but if we keep going in this direction we're not going down. Edwards on the right may be the discovery of the year and, it's not only his performance on the right but also his goals. I agree with Pricey that we should rotate the strikers. I think Langmead is an awesome signing and the perfect player to play off for Luke. But we can't burn him out. How many straight 90 minutes has he had lately or, putting it another way, when did he last have a rest? Cos let's face it, he runs his balls off for 90mins and he can't do that every game or he'll be burned out. Granty has proved many people wrong these last few games and maybe with a little support and encouragement he could become a very useful player for us. The defence is looking solid as well. OK so yesterday we conceded 4 but let's not forget who we were playing and the circumstances of every goal. And let's not forget either of the two consecutive clean sheets we've had in the last two games. Mossy can only make the defense stronger and, if he gets sent off again we've seen that Whitehead is more than a good replacement. Jamie has improved lots under GP and the only way from here is for him to play to the standard we all know he can play. OC is always a good player to have on your side. You need a hard barsteward in your team bt he can also play and well. Sedge I thought was going to be a pleyer we were going to offload and how wrong I've been. He is a utility man that every team needs and now he should be adjusting perfectly to league footy. The only way from here is up!!!
