From the pictures and the like I have seen I reckon that Huish Park is what our New Meadow's gonna look like, well from where I was standing on the away end anyhows... A decent ground an all, I'll be happy with sommat like that... By the by, a good atmos today...Yeovil really made some noise and really got behind their team. Didn't appreciate the 'going down' chants mind...

Yeh I liked it although I was glad it didn't rain for us on the terrace!

Was talking to many about that today also, even on the outside the steel structure is the same as the artists impressions of the NM. Pics will be up tommorow

A nice ground, neat and tidy, how old is it? 10 years? looks in good nick. the terrace behind the one goal had a good atmosphere when they decided to sing, pretty good accoustics too.

To be fair I went there the first season in opened (1991-92?) and it was well-thought out at construction.
Each side of the ground was built, so that it could be extended (or covered) by simple additions, rather than a re-build, which I thought was good planning on their part!
I think the foundations and steelwork are all capable of holding a much larger structure

Huish Park was first used in 1990.
It needs a lick of paint and a roof on the away end. BUT, now we are a league club, any alterations to the ground must include making it all seater. So we are actually not allowed a roof on the away end unless we make it seats. And we haven't got the cash!!!

yeh, .... you could tell that it was built with intentions to expand i think the NM needs to be exactly like that though, with standing terraces either side of the goals ..... it increases atmosphere dramaitcally

I suppose I do Tim, but I was there in my guise of following that team then, with me as part of a band of fans, therefore, we were a collective "We". Regardless of whoever I was following, or followed, that would remain the same. Therefore, if say, you, were following Northwich at that time and they won 3-2 there, then you would say "we won 3-2" too, regardless of the relation to any item which occurs in the present tense, which is of course, independant of the original event. Do you follow?

The ground is nice, I can see some similarities in the NM design with the cantilevered stands and the training pitch next to the ground, but the location wasnt handy, Asda was the nearest place if you wanted to get something to eat and the nearest pub I saw was called 'The Bell' which took a good 10-15 min walk, and I've no idea how far away the town centre is, whilst this may sound anti-NM but I'd be lying if I said I preferred grounds that are out of town with nowhere to eat or drink around the surrounding area.
Apparently there was a marquee next to the ground which acts as a supporters bar? Thats an interesting idea.....
The atmosphere was good, the Liquidator tune made me laugh ;D but I liked it how the tannoy announcer wished a 'good afternoon' to each of the four stands before the kick off, Hull are the only other club I can think of who do that.

I must admit that, looking at the football grounds website, I prefer the look of the Dean Park open sided stands, than the closed stands at Huish Park. For those that like the HP terraces - bad luck, I think it is the old chestnut and we are not going to get terraces however much we want them. I wonder if it is worth a seson down in the conference to get the ground built with terraces and then return to the league with them - don't worry - I'm only joking!!!!
