- Our defender who got sent off got his just desserts. A disgraceful tackle on your lad that was knee high and could end careers.
- Luke Rodgers also got sent off and again, rightly so. The tackle was bad enough, but he then raised his hands which you just can't do.
- Shrewsbury's penalty. From where I was, it looked a dive. He fell to the ground three yards after our goalkeeper 'fouled' him. Would need to see it again though. If a foul, then why no red card for our goalkeeper?
- Shrewsbury's second goal. Again, this shouldn't have stood. A foul on the edge of the Shrews' penalty area not given and they break and score. BUT, we were guilty of not playing to the whistle. Nice finish btw.
- Andrejs Stolcers. He got booked in the first minute for a dive. And a correct decision by the referee. 9.9 on the USSR scorecard.
I thought Shrewsbury battled hard and are better than your league position suggests. BUT, I genuinely believe Luke Rodgers cost you the game. 2-1 up with twenty minutes left and he loses the plot completely. Had he stayed on, I reckon at worst, you would have drawn. At best, you would have won.
All the best.

interesting perspective.
Our manager said Luke did nothing wrong and that he had the backing of the fourth official???

Thanks for the post Yeovil fan.
It just goes to show how much people's opinions can range on 90 minutes of football

interesting perspective. Our manager said Luke did nothing wrong and that he had the backing of the fourth official??? They missed the raised hands then. Like I said, the tackle itself was bad enough and I have seen red cards given for that alone. But raised hands and a shove in the opposition players face is a definite red card in its own right.

The Yeovil player showed a clenched fist to Luke as the incident evolved, why didnt he walk as well? I was also a little suprised the Yeovil keeper stayed on.

IF it was a penalty, then surely it is a clear goalscoring opportunity and therefore a red card. My mate who I go to games with said that our player threw a punch but missed. Intent is the same as actually doing it so again, you have a point. I genuinely didnt see this so I will take the Arsene on it.

Definate penalty, he caught langmeads heels, langers tried to stay on his feet, perhaps the only reason the keeper stayed on was that it was almost a lost cause...... very surprised no red for the keeper.

Have to agree with Yeovil Fan, Luke Had to go, He cost us points today, Their keeper should of gone, but have to say Ref was Rubbish, and we still seem to lapse into bad defending when under pressure. Think i saw League winners today, and its not Shrews, but a very improving Shrews. End to end game, very interesting. But very Disapointed With Luke.

That's twice we've let Yeovil off. We'll have to get promoted with them to get the 6 points of them next season.

Langmead was going nowhere and as your keeper went after him I couldn't believe it! He caught his heel but there was no clear goalscoring opportunity and it wasn't violent/cynical/dangerous play so no card needed.

So why was Luke sent off? For the foul or the hangbags afterwards? If it were the latter then I don't think he should have been sent off...all he did was stand up and push the Yeovil chap away after the Yeovil player started on him when he were on the floor. Thought Luke was gonna do the right thing and just stay down but it were not to be...schade, schade...

Someone on this forum said Rodgers stamped on our player. I didnt see that but if he did, then it is a red.
Or it could have been the tackle itself which I have seen reds given for.
Or the handbags itself. Yes, he shoved our man away but he raised his hands and shoved him in the face. A red card.

Another battling display from the Town which, on another day, could have yielded a draw or victory. Plenty of things to talk about and incidents to debate, including two of the jammiest goals for the home side you will see all season. There is no way in hell we are going to be a Conference club next season

Think the keeper stayed on because it wasn't a clear goalscoring opportunity. The ball had gone wide and by the time Langmead would have got to it the keeper and defenders might have been able to get back. I thought Langmead went down very easily under the challenge and wouldn't have been happy had that penalty been given against us. Having said this I think Langmead learnt how to go down from watching the Yeovil players and just followed suit, so perhaps there is some justice. Would also say I thought Yeovil were the best side I have seen this season.
