Rob, as a striker who isnt actually scoring goals and isnt exactly in s**t hot form does he still deserve a place in the first eleven?

I'd still play him yes.
Langmead is the sort of player we've been wanting to be paired with Rodgers for the last season and a half....
still think a lot of people were well off the mark earlier with their remarks about Luke rodgers.....

I wouldn't have Luke Rodgers in my starting 11. On current form, it has to be Grant and Langmead.
I certainly wouldn't get rid of him though.

I personally think players on form should included in the starting eleven.
At the moment Langmead and Grant should be starting up front, no doubt about it.
However I still think Rodgers is a massive part of the squad

Who said he did? Certainly not Rob... Pete, did I say he did? purely a question I wanted to ask. Myself, I would stick him on the bench for a few games, there's nothing wrong with giving others a run and also take the pressure of scoring off him.

wonder if he's still a muppet who should never play for STFC again Hold on a minute Rob. I seem to recall plenty of times in the past when you have posted in haste . Some of the comments from our younger contributers may bring up the hackles in a few of us but please try and remember when you were at that stage, or perhaps you still are?

As we have seemingly got the 4th official on our side, Luke will obviously be available for selection on Saturday - I somehow doubt it, after his chat with the ref, I'm sure the 4th official will decide he was unsighted by a ballboy or a fly got in his eye and the ref was right after all = 3 game ban

Remember darlings everyone is entitled to their view. Don't just lambast them cos you don't agree, come up with a positive criticism or alternative point of view. Don't get personal or we will all go the the way of The Prof

Having just got back from the Game i would say Rodgers Cost us points today, will he ever learn, Having got back into this game and then into the lead, Then Rodgers throws it away. Hes a Tw@t in my book, Then we went back to normal, and we couldnt defend, Up to this point we played very well, And should of taken something from this game. Still think we should be ok, if we carry on battling like this.
Does anyone know why Ashton was dropped.
Agree with MOM Tinson had a great game,
Chris

Sloghtly dissapointed with Luke, but he looked sharp and was instrumental in both our goals, He retaliated at most, will not slate him, at the end of Feb we will have the free scoreing Luke of 2 years ago and people hear will be eating there words.......some people cannot see class when it hits em square in the Jaw..

some people cannot see class when it hits em square in the Jaw.. Andy Lindegaard saw it when Rodgers shoved him in the jaw.

i am not luke rodgers greatest fan at the best of times, but yesterday he really annoyed me! as for him not doing anything wrong, well we will have 2 see, but i cant see how he couldnt have done anything wrong if he was sent off!! i dont doubt his ability, but i wouldnt let him start games at the moment....and if grant and langmeads partnership continues to "blossom", then why should luke get his place back in the team?? id rather him be brought on with 20 mins 2 go when the oppositions defence is knackered, and him go running rings round them! lol

Funny thing is Lindegraad went down like he'd been shot and got up even quicker to push Rodgers and no-one has said anything about him or his reaction. Rodgers fouled him but if every one just got up and walked away we wouldn't be having this tedious debate. Rodgers has a bad reputation and i'm sure that crossed Lindegraads and the referees minds when they reacted as they did.
In my view Rodgers was harshly dealt with while Lindegraad walked away an angel - not quite sure of the balance there!

Difference was, Lindegaard didnt raise his hands to the opponents face. Hence no red card. Yellow? Possibly but definitely not a red.
The laws are quite clear on this.

ahh so Rodgers was supposed to stand there while Lindegraad grabbed him by the chest and pushed him around. Isn't Lindegrrad even shorter than Rodgers, so Rodgers' natural reaction to being shoved in the chest is to try to push away the person who was shoving him, and hence his hands night have been higher than Lindegraads. But to say he intentionally pushed him in the face from my view was harsh.
at least someone has finally admitted that Rodgers was aggressivley provoked by someone who walked away scot free. Might it be due to their differing reputations amongst referees!!!!
a booking each and i don't think anyone would be complaining.

That wasn't the view of some of your posters on ciderspace "Yeovil Through Member since 27-Jul-04 157 posts 03-Jan-05, 07:30 PM (GMT) 4. "RE: I am confused..." In response to message #3 Lindy reacted to the takle n held the player on the floor, and to me, look as if he pushed his face into the ground. he was very lucky that none of the officals saw it as he would have had a red as well."
